Description
Ai Difficulty Adjustments- Trakaan's Diversified Mortal Empire

This mod changes the amount of attrition damage and public order penalty the Ai receive based on the difficulty level you choose for your campaign. All values are still incremental and different for each difficulty levels.

It is meant to emphasize some features and change the way the campaign unfolds (for example rebellions are more present)

Important Notes :
This mod is intented to work with my other mods for Mortal Empire which you can find here :
"Trakaan Diversified Mortal Empire Bundle"
But it can also be used on its own.


List of changes :

In both Vortex and Mortal Empire Campaigns :

Attrition for the AI is more impactfull
In base game the Ai can ignore attrition on harder difficculties. This mod makes it so the Ai will still take less attrition than you but a least a little so it is more carefull not to go in dangerous terrain and thus more true to the lore.
Values changes from : -30, -50, -60, -70, -80 to -5, -10, -20, -30, -40

Removes the 0 cost for the AI to occupy ruins
In base game it costs nothing to the Ai to colonize (no money, no % of troops). This mod makes it so it cost something so it cannot instantly conquer (or reconquer) cities.
If the occupation cost for the human is of let's say 100
Values would have been changes from 0, 0, 0, 0, 0 to 100, 100, 75, 50, 25.

Lower public order bonus
in base game the AI receives a huge public order bonus on harder difficulties making climates, corruption, raiding or the need for entertainment buildings irrelevant and thus almost losing this huge part of the game in the process.This mod makes it so the AI still will have a bonus over you (+8 public order than you) but whitch is less than in base game for harder difficulties (+18 on legendary). Thus the Ai will have to be more carefull about where it settles (corruption + climate suitability penalty) and external actions such as conquering a city in the province or raiding a region will be taken into account and not completly negated.
Values for the player changed from : 1, 0, -2 , -4, -8 to 0, -2, -4, -6, -8
Values for the Ai changed from :2, 4, 6 , 8, 10 to -8, -8, -6, -4, -2

What does this mean with this mod :
Easy : player 0 and AI -8
Normal : player -2 and Ai -8
Hard : player -4 and AI -6
Very hard : player -6 and Ai -4
Legendary :player -8 and Ai -2


If used in Vortex Campaign :
  • Less "ritual currency" gained by the AI (mainly made to go with my Modified Vortex Ritual mod or any mod that makes the Vortex Campaign longer")

Compatibility
Compatible with most mods (but may overwrite or be overwritten by mods modifying the same things)
Should be save game compatible but it is recommended to start a new campaign for the "full experience"

A port of this mod is now available for TW:WH3 ! it can be found here : https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/id/trakaan/myworkshopfiles/?appid=1142710
it is now seperated with one mod for the public order and one for the attrition.

No update from now-on. TWH2 uninstalled to make space for TWH3 ;) . The mod will be ported to TWH3 IF needed and when I feel like it. Might not be before the combined, map might not be at all we will see !

Creative Assembly removed all penalty to players a few updates ago (hunter dan the beast one I think). The only thing left are bonus to the AI (growth, research, recuitment cost, building cost, etc.) and the public order for both human and AI.

The only 2 things i changed with this mod is I lowered attrition resistance of the Ai, removed a big part of their public order bonus and that's it (the occupy ruines of the mod description is innacurate as this method was discarded by CA and so I removed it from the mod)

Thank you Trakaan for your work and quick answer.

Just a question, does the player's units are still weakened when the difficulty is higher ? I find it quite frustrating. As a veteran in TW, i like difficulty, but i dislike illogical difficulty.

Ok I found why it's asking that. I deleted some data that was overlapping with other mods and may cause incompatibility. Since this data is missing that is certainly the reason why it's asking that. The data in question was just there for refference and equal to the base game values so evreything should work fine.

hello, I don't know why it's asking that to you. The mod is working for me I will just check if it wasn't a mistake on my part on the name file or with the upload.

Hello there, after the last update, my campaign now asks me for the mod in order to be loaded. I only launch this mod. Is it incompatible with the previous version ?
