Description
Rifle & Saber is a tactical (company level) simulation of warfare in "the age of the rifle," roughly from 1850 to 1900. The period was marked by a tremendous increase in the firepower of infantry units which far outstripped advances in tactics. Cavalry and infantry units represent about 100-150 men, artillery units about 4-6 guns, game turns about five minutes real time. Designed by John M. Young Jr. (PRESTAGS,Search & Destroy, etc.). A simple wargame from a simpler time.

I always use parts out of other games,do the same with my physical Board games and Miniatures as well.
Generic counters would be cool,i have an ACW Bug at the moment, some american civil war units would be fun,i like the little miniatures on the counters in Napoleons Battles by Avalon Hill(have the TTS module already),maybe something similar for ACW or other periods?

Thanks boromir,
I never thought of using them (they are standard Table Of Organization, or TOE symbols) on other war game maps. Maybe I should make a set of generic units for all periods and upload them...?:lunar2020thinkingtiger:

This is cool,I really like the counters.

I grew up playing Panzer Leader and these counters use the same counter attributes, never heard of this game before.

I would like a vassal module too,but I cannot seem to find one.
I have played with the counters on some other maps like for example Three Days at Gettysburg, lots of fun.

I concidered selling my couple hundred games, but but boxed them up instead. Now I'm retired I got them out and repackaged the disintegrating SPI flatboxes. I think about the old days more and more...I might actually play one of these games if they're all on the computer (VASSAL, and TTS)!

I sold all my games in 2007, had some greate SPI and AH, I am back into gaming now, and regret selling my 30 year collection that I started in the late 60's. But that is fine, I'm back....
