(It is my policy that anyone can use the work I've done here, and modify or add it to their own mod, and publish it, though please note the original source.)

Major Update:
Factions have been tremendously re-balanced, most especially the Radical factions--specifically the Radicals become more of a force in the Age of absolutism. The short explanation is that if you have a parliament and your absolutism is too high (50+) you'll be dealing with increasing Radical reaction. Moreover, now Radicals gain influence from the "Rooting out Corruption" Slider rather than the corruption itself.
Also, now every successful parliament debate passed will either grant a large bonus or penalty (about 15 points) to one or more factions.

Note: see Mod threads for details of Faction Stats

This mod disables the estates completely for Republics which have Parliaments and replaces it with a faction system, similar to how Merchant and Revolutionary Republics work, which simulates the major political forces that shaped the governments of early republics during the late 18th and early 19th century. The estates are removed because Constitutional Republics in game are meant to represent radically new democratic governments (the USA, Mexico, Columbia, various short lived European Republics) that did away with a ‘special’ political rights and representation for the Clergy, Aristocrats, Merchants, different from those of normal citizens, if not outright abolishing them as classes, such as in the US. To make up for the loss of those mechanics, Republics now have three political Factions that represent the unique discourse and conflicts that occurred in these new representative governments, each with their own set of significant bonuses and penalties.

American and Federal Republics have their own unique faction system with two factions: Democratic-Republicans and Federalists, drawn from the two major historical political parties that developed after the signing of the Constitution. Both factions are considerably stronger than the other factions in game.

This mod also adds three factions for the English Monarchy (Crown, Commons, and Lords) and non-English Monarchies which have Parliaments (Radicals, Liberals, and Royalists) to make up for the loss of the Noble Estate mechanics.

The political factions are not meant to represent any specific or singular parties (with the Exception of the Historical U.S. Factions) but rather the broader political philosophies that influenced numerous parties across many of the early Republics across the Americas and Europe.

I have been wanting to implement factions for SuperStates Mod for a few years now so I might take a look at what was done and see what I could adapt for SuperStates Mod.

@ truelove101992
It's rather tough to keep all the mods working with the constant updates and micro-dlcs from Paradox. I probably won't start modding again until after Eu4 is in its final stable state, like Crusader Kings 2 is now. So, in other words, probably not until after they drop EU5.

Something I've always wanted to add to SuperStates Mod. Amazing.
