Auto Height Control (hover)

Description
The only altitude control script (as far as I can find) for creating hover vehicles.
Features:

1) Vanilla Friendly, no mods
2) Lightweight; doesnt need a ton of blocks to run
3) Editable height (from ground) for ship to auto raise up to
4) Auto height (from ground) descent [only script I know of currently that does that]

I know this is a bit late, but I have to say, the hover works really well... it's really a shame I can't go up or down using all my engines... I know it clearly says to keep a few thrusters to go up and down... which I can't do... Howerver, for a first script, it was really good !

Sorry, this was the 1st script I had ever written. Hell I'm shocked it has as many subs as it currently does.
No a display is not needed.
The basic premise is that it will override you thrust to push you up to the set height, then turn off (should at least) one to allow the ship to lower itself if over the set height.

Frankly the hover engine mod would be a better thing to get as this doesn't really work at speed.

I appreciate all the feedback and I will leave it up, but do not expect an update as I don't see a real use for it.

It's a good idea but unfortunately the description of the script is flawed. A little guide and it would work. I tested 2 hours before I came to the conclusion that the upward engines had to be combined in an extra group. Unfortunately, this meant that these engines could no longer be started and my ship remained on the ground. After another 2 unsuccessful hours I give up. So I do not know how the script works. Do I need a display or not. If so, what does that mean? I will look for another script.

okay, actually nice! There are other scripts that can do that other stuff if necessary and for simplicity this is great.

no reports of it not working. and no it does not contain a balancer part, it was one of my first scripts

Hmm, interesting challange, I may have to look into it, since the in game auto pilot is derpry as all get out.

Needs to remember a connector on a station, fly itself (space to space, space to ground, or ground to space) to a second connector, dock, wait a pause, undock, and return. And then repeat, infinitely.
