Harvest Organs Post Mortem - [Old Version] 1.2

Description
NEW VERSION IS OUT:
http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1121625983

This version is outdated, but will still work fine. I'm adding a new version due to new requirement for HugsLib, and I don't want 8.800 people to have to search through their mod list as of why their mod suddenly stopped working.

Update 1.2:
- Fixed a bug where all operations where imposslble.

Turns out I had forgotten to change the name of the operation used to harvest organs medically, thus limiting all operations to the autopsy table :P But no worries, it is fixed now, and it has nothing to do with other mods. Should be compatible with almost everything, such as EPOE.

Update 1.1 is here:
- Added autopsy table
- Added autopsy research
- Added "basic autopsy" and "advanced autopsy"
- Balanced butchering debuff
- Balanced autopsy in general

Discussion:

First off: thank you all for your ideas and feedback, it is great to see such a passionate modding community.

The new update adds autopsy table which allows for advanced autopsy. This improves medical skills, and takes half the amount of work as the butchering table, but requires a skill of 8. A lot of the changes this update was focused on balance. The mod is OP, without doubt. It is still OP after the update, but more balanced than before. The changes includes increase work amount to the butcher table, and decreased work amount to the autopsy table. The mood debuff has been altered to mostly affect the pawn doing the dirty work, and less affect the colony. The new changes include half the duration of the debuff for the butcher, and 1/3 of the duration for the rest of the colonists. The mood debuff went from -6 to -5 with the butcher, and from -6 to -1 with the rest of the colonists. Thus the whole colony won't be screwed over from organ "donation".

Version 1.0:
Organs are valuable, so why should a person being dead stop us? It doesn't really stop us in real life. How often do you "donate" your heart while still alive, eh? This mod is very simple: it adds the option to harvest organs from dead bodies. You do so from the butcher table. You can harvest organs until the bodies are rotten.

From butchering a human for organs you get the following:
- Heart x1
- Liver x1
- Lung x2
- Kidney x2
- The normal debuff from butchering a human (you can't really expect that opening up a human for all his organs won't upset someone).

Limitations of the mod:
Currently the mod does only add what is listed, and not actually what the corpse possessed. For example, if the pawn had a bionic eye, or a destroyed liver, you would still get the same as everyone else. This limitations is because of one thing: I'm really not a skilled modder. But I wish for the organ harvest to be individual, so I'll keep trying to change the mod for the better.

If anyone that knows how to make the organ harvest individual, please feel free to tinker with my mod.

EDIT (31.07.17): Hi guys, thank you for all your support and ideas. I like that you have different opinions and a passion for the modding community! This mod has gotten a lot of comments, and even though I haven't had time to answer every comment personally, know that I have read them, and taken your suggestions to mind.

I have tried to make it individual in terms of harvesting organs that pawns possess, but it seems to me like the code won't allow it in the base game. It should be possible with advanced coding-skills in C#, but I only know XML-coding. If anyone knows how, you are more than welcome to add to my mod.

Again, thank you for your support!

Cookie, this is an outdated mod, not compatible with the one you link. See the description for the 1.0 version.

Everyone! A new version of this mod will be published shortly. It will be launched as a seperate mod because it will now require HugsLib, and I don't want to break 8.800 players game and make them search through their modlist to find the fault. Sorry for the inconvenience, but installing the other mod should not break your save :)

@blackgrue I dont know what is causing the bug, but Im working on a revamp of the mod. Then it will be in the production tab.

Yes it is tied to the research.

Is the ability to autopsy tied to a research task?
blackgrue 26 Aug, 2017 @ 6:52am
@Smuffle, it's not there for me... None of my other mods add to that tab too...
