this is a great game which i think is much better to play with friends, my only complaint is raids almost happened every night and the could go through some traps without setting them off, other then that i would say this game is perfect.

Edit: now that i have more hours in it and have fully played through the second game i want to change my original review to something more substantial (it has spoilers)

Ok for those who have completed and replayed the game before would know that the game is near perfection it has good replay-ability a solid story that isn't shoved in your face, combat is good and only feels clunky with certain weapons (guns and bows mostly) and has so many good mechanics that just aren't shown enough in other games, although as i stated in my previous review raids are very consistent, so your gonna have to set a decent amount of traps down or your base will 100% be breached. Since we are on the topic on the bad stuff i want to mention the final boss... my main problem with this boss is the range of her attacks and the constant baby spam, you cannot go in melee unless you plan on dying because attack windows are big enough to maybe get 1 or 2 swings in before she attacks which by the way can go through multiple pieces of armour, but going past that it does kinda make sense for the final boss to be tough so i cant argue to much

and this pretty much covers it, i feel like I've said what i wanted to if your curious on my opinion on the second game i have a review up on that as-well.

All this game has that's better than the original is graphics and companions, combat being absolutely dogsh#t (i love being stun locked by the big guys, and losing 1 piece of armour each time I'm attacked) not to mention the story being dry and confusing, especially the ending... its so terribly rushed

so for the conclusion, play the first game its far superior

Edit: (for full release)
Just for context i haven't beaten the game yet, so don't take my opinion as gospel or sin.
Since the game released it's early access it already had completely unrealistic standards (part in partial of the devs not fully explaining what they were doing in trailers, blogs, such and such) so a friend and I had to go into the game doubtful and honestly even then we were let down, the game has so much potential of being better then the first but it seems like they lost the heart of the game and have made it just one of your stock standard survival games with maybe a hint of story and an ass load of cash "grabbiness".

I don't mean to fully hate on this game cause i feel like i could truly enjoy it, but ever since early access it has left such a bad taste in my mouth that i don't even want to boot up the game, and when i do manage to pull myself to do so, it ends up being soulless: run here to grab this, run there to do that, if you want a weapon you just gotta run to the other side of the ever so empty map! speaking of the map actually i would just like to point out that the sheer size of the island is the main problem with this game, there's 2 real reasons why and a couple others that aren't really worth mentioning:

1. from the size of the map you would have to fill up most corners of everything, everywhere which they devs didn't really do, which brings me to another statement which i already made being that the game feels soulless and empty, there are 2 things to really do whilst traversing and that's breaking open coffins/ graves and killing the cannibals which either a horde of appear or you wont see a single one for the next 2hrs (caves are good though, the one upside from the map size).

2. it just takes way to long to traverse across the place even with their "solution" being Segways and golf carts not to mention they function rather poorly (they do feel way better post launch but still clunky in most parts of the map).

For now that is all i had to say though i will update my review once i manage to get an ending!

Let me be honest with you for a second, Wallace and Gromit is an absolute masterpiece when you really think about it. Being potential one of, if not the best stop motion films made in existence.
The One and Only, King Jangles 15 Aug, 2022 @ 8:10pm
The first movie/short film "A Grand Day Out" was a purely ingenious way to get you used to the characters that you would be watching the day to day live of, them being "Wallace" the 63 y/o man, and his loyal dog "Gromit". From the first scene alone we can understand that these two really enjoy cheese, so much so that they suggest potential of going to the moon, because after all "Everybody knows the moons made of cheese". Right after we learn that Wallace is actually an inventor and he devises a way to craft a rocket ship in his old dingy basement. After successfully doing so they make lift off, one they arrive they are able to set up a picnic blanket and have some cheese and crackers. There are some funny hijinx that play out in the form of a moon robot trying to stop them, but for the most part thats all from "A Grand Day Out".

Next we move onto "The Wrong Trousers"... To begin with this movie, we have a pleasing new fresh coat of paint as some may say. Now for the story, We learn that Wallace may be quite poor (potentially because he's 63 and retired without ever having a know profession, more on that later), as he struggles to find money to get his favourite dog "Gromit" a birthday present. But as we learnt from the previous film, Wallace is an inventor so he had planned a machine that could help take Gromit on walks (as Gromit is a dog he must have someone to walk him). Through nothing but facial expressions, Gromit shows how unhappy he is with this gift. We see a short montage of the walk as we proceed to the next scene where we are introduced to the villain of this film "Feathers Mcgraw".

Throughout the next few scenes we see feathers both, attempting to steal Gromit's life away from him and we get to see the potential villainous intent that Feathers has. Feathers plans to steal a big diamond using the machine that Wallace had originally created to aid in walking Gromit. After the next few scenes we watch as Feathers successfully steal said diamond and gets subsequently captured by Wallace and Gromit, we then see him in bars as the camera slowly pans out to show he's now trapped in a Zoo (that story then proceeds into the 2003 Video Game "Project Zoo" but we're hear to talk about the films).

After "The Wrong Trousers" there is "A Close Shave" which from my knowledge is our first introduction to Shaun the Sheep whom proceeded to get his own spin-off franchise, after that movie we get a series of short episodes called "Cracking Contraptions" 3 years later we get a partner with the studio that created Wallace and Gromit (Aardman) and the creators of popular movies such as Shrek (Dreamworks), in this partner they proceed to create a movie geared more towards those who have a fetish for animals (more specifically Rabbits) called "The Curse of the Were-Rabbit". To finish the franchise off, we have one final movie called "A Matter of Loaf and Death" This movie is named afer a common phrase "A matter of LIFE and death" but its funny because they are bakers.

That film was created in 2008 and we sadly haven't heard from these two quirky personalities since then. There are potential rumours of a movie to release on Netflix in 2024, but as that date is 2 years away we won't look too much into that one... Anyway, that was the end of my review of Wallace and Gromit (I'll admit I got a little lazy toward the end because I've been writing this for almost and hour), I hope you enjoyed! :)
