♥♥♥♥ this game

absolutely broken trash game. Bought it as a joke but its so beyond broken that I feel offended somehow even. Why would anyone go to the lengths of publishing this even.

an absolute classic that has been rebooted, hope whoever is at the wheel drives it into what is once was.

UPD, they changed the core mechanics to fit their financial goals rather than preserving a classic.

I have a bit of a interesting story about how I ended up playing this.

When I saw Balatro initially I thought it looked SUPER boring because I'm not really into card games.. especially solo ones.

I kept hearing about this game from its overwhelming success and always just thought how could something so boring be so successful.

Fast forward to I'm at work, hiding in the bathroom as I usually do, and need something to distract myself. Browsing the app store I see Balatro. I gave it a shot at that time because desperate times call for desperate measures.

Came home two days later and I can't stop playing it. Its so relaxing, the art style is so satisfying, the combos to figure out are fun and have the right amount of skill and luck tied to them. Not to mention the obvious love put into this game in terms of UI design and accessibility.

If you're on the fence, buy it.

Blatant Pro-Chinese Censorship

You can't say things like "Free Taiwan" but you can say things like "Free Palestine".

Taiwan is the largest democratic movement in the history of mankind (that is a fact you can easily google btw).

played for less than a hour and I'm already in love with it. Don't sleep on this game especially if you're looking for a old school mmorpg with what feels like has been updated in all the right places.

can't wait to sink some hours into this.

Tons of fun! (my wife left me and took the kids and this is all I have left despite it being the same thing that took them away from me, please Alyssa bring the kids back I didn't mean anything when I said you could easily look up their skirts I was just noticing a weird thing in the game).

Crashed 5 times just trying to get into a game. The game itself is really fun and has a nice loop and reward system where you get crates at the end of every run to unlock cosmetics. You can freely respec your skills at anytime which I'm kinda for and against but to each their own. I asked other people I was playing with if they had issues with crashing and the main menu stuttering from 120 to 9 frames and they all said yes. Game shouldn't be considered anywhere close to 1.0 and I really hope they continue to update and optimize this game.

I will not be one of the many reviews giving this a thumbs up while at the same time saying "just add a little more its almost there!". Finish. your. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. game. before. calling. it. 1.0!

Not to mention having to body push people multiple times to get them unstuck.. INCLUDING IN THE SPAWN POINT BEFORE YOU EVEN START PLAYING!! (typed in all caps before the white knight community clown bomb reviews me)

hard pass, any active server is full of rules that prevent you from playing the game freely. Game is (and I can't stress this enough) LOADED with visual immersion breaking bugs. You have to overlook a ton in order to be able to enjoy this to begin with only to be told that you can't play the game as intended because some neck beard wants to have a perfectly ran server. That means they'll basically tell you everything you can and can't do up to hard locking the ability to literally trading with your friend.

I thought I was having a blast until I realized the game is almost completely luck based. At the start of the round you get to pick from 4 random commanders that each have their own starting units and perks. I thought until recently that each side got to pick from the same 4. I just found out that is not the case and you can get a super stacked commander from getting lucky. Of course you can out play the other person eventually but to put me in a underdog position simply because I had bad rng is just bad game design.. especially in a competitive setting. Hope the devs see how unbalanced this subtle feature is for early game.

Other than that its fun to grind, as long as you don't take it competitively and can handle loosing from time to time to complete bs.
