A word for anyone looking to buy the game:

Don't listen to the negative reviews. Ever since the Playstation account debacle the community has been a bunch of whiny children when anything balance related comes out and review bombs the game. My suggestion is to get the game and try it for yourself.

Love the game. Got it a long time ago on Epic Games Store. Decided to get the Aftermath upgrade on steam so I could play on the steam deck. Which is where the not recommended comes in.

This is one of the few games I would LOVE to play on the go. But from the research I've done the game has not worked on the steam deck since sometime around Jan 2024 it has not worked. There has been no help from the devs on this either so your SOL if you got this game to play on the steam deck. The worst part is that this game is verified for the Steam Deck.

I would happily change my review if the devs could fix this long standing issue.

Unique game play that goes beyond just shooting everything in sight. Story is well thought out; although, some "transition" cutscenes would be nice to know how characters got from point A to point B.

The AI are not as bad as others say they are. They are set to follow in front of you at a set distance and unless you tell them otherwise they will continue to do that so once combat starts you need to tell them to take cover or target an enemy. after a targeted enemy dies they will go back to following you at that set distance as well as after interacting with an object. Some say the commands telling all the AI to go there is annoying but in reality it would be difficult to tell each one to go to a specific spot WHILE still trying to be a support with your own weapons and healing.

Enemy diversity is perfectly fine. Some are arguing that their isn't enough enemy diversity but I feel it is just right. So far I have encountered 4 grunt like units which include: the common solider, the healer, the melee swarm, and snipers. After that I have ran into 2 tank units: the tank, and the Rhino. then I have met 2 flying units: Drones, and wasps (I think they are called) and I'm going to run into another in my next mission going off of what one of my challenges is. Not every game needs dozens on dozens of different enemies.

My one critic of the game is the lack of special abilities for the AI. As of where I am I have only seen 3 abilities: the concussion grenade, slow bolt, and mortar fire.

All in all its a fun and entertaining game and I recommend trying it for yourself rather than basing you opinion purely on others opinions of the game.

I'll just be honest here. I bought it for the fap and stayed for the roller coaster of emotions. It was definitely better than I was expecting.

Loved these games since I had the first one on ps3. can't wait for 3 to release. I still binge them on a daily basis

I've always loved resource management games but never have been a big fan of your defense games but this game puts a nice twist on the tower defense party that even I enjoy a lot. I can't wait to see where this game goes as it develops

NEXT update is the best update for this game yet. Not only because of the multiplayer but the complete overhaul of visuals in the game was amazing. I'll be honest and say before NEXT update the planets tended to be barren but now it looks like life is on every planet. I've been a fan of this game since it launched, on console. When the NEXT update came out I got it on PC to play with friends and have enjoyed it even more. I have 706,063 light years to go to get to the galaxtic core, plenty of distance to put in hundreds of hours!
