This is my favorite game hands down I have ever played, and if I could choose only one game to play for the rest of my life the choice would be easy. You can do so many things playthrough after playthrough, none even close to the same, all so different it's almost like a different game each time, and the workshop has so many mods and things one can add that you can tailor this to any taste or preference.

I have had colony's suffer setbacks due to pyromaniac colonists getting too stressed in the dead of night and burning everything to the ground, and a pack of manhunting capybaras decimating my colony and taking legs off of multiple colonists. The ever present insect threat from mining too much out of roofed caves, and the trouble of hunting food when crops get the blight. But there are always ways to adapt and turn things around and build back up and if things do get too bad that next playthrough will be just as captivating and wondrous a journey and story.

There are limitless things to achieve and do, so many stories to be told and experience, so many goals you can set and achieve. There are many games I enjoy but again if I had to choose one to scratch all the itches and hit all the notes its this one no doubt. If you are on the fence about trying this you will wonder why you didn't try it sooner.

I don't do a lot of reviews, those I do I talk about the game and why I like it, but this is the one of all of them I urge others to try too because it is THAT good. The soundtrack is amazing as well its worth it to pick up on it's own honestly, and the Royalty expansion, well I've only watched others play it I am still having too much fun with the original to get the DLC but I will in due time for sure. This type of game and experience is why I came back to PC and left consoles behind again. Its truly a great game from gameplay to music, story to action, immersion to achievement of goals. I truly can not recommend it enough.
