10/10, the 10 year wait for this to be revealed at e3 2018 unironically saved my life.

To me, DMC5 is the pinnacle of action games and one of the greatest games ever made, period. So much so, this isn't my first time playing it. In fact, I've 100%'d it on Xbox One, PS4, PS5 and Series X prior to purchasing this for PC on sale today.

While Vs sections can be a chore on repeat playthroughs, Bloody Palace with Dante, Nero and Vergil is an addicting delight and the movement, jump-cancel tech and the robust loadout and skillset for each of the three listed characters is something to behold. The only downside is the removal of Reversals which were in fact present in the DMC5 demo on Xbox One, but if you're only a casual fan, this likely won't bother you and isn't particularly noticeable. Even with 5's lowered skill ceiling, it satisfies experienced veterans like myself and newcomers alike.

After DMC4 left a cliffhanger open for 11 long years, and the reboot souring the mouths of many who just wanted to see the return of Dante, Nero, Lady, Trish & Vergil - this game feels like a love letter and something of an apology for those dark days spent under Inafune's leadership. If there never comes another DMC game in our time, I'm perfectly content with what we've been given here, and like RE4 I'll buy any and every port of this for years to come.

CAPCOM, please give us LDK & Turbo on PC though, it's wild that console has LDK and Turbo.

DMC is back!
