350+ hours and still enjoying this game a lot

I wasn't familiar with any previous Monster Hunter games but this isn't necessary to enjoy the story or learn the game. Even after many hours of playing you'll find yourself still learning new things. The game is challenging in a fun way and completing quests and parts of the story gives a feeling of satisfaction. It's great how it's not about just hitting a monster to death with your weapon of choice but also has the options to break parts of the monsters to weaken them, the possibility to mount monsters, the interactions between certain monsters and how the environment can be used to your advantage.
Even after completing the story for both the base game and the Iceborne expansion, there's still plenty of content to complete and new things to unlock. The events are nice and offer the chance to get special rewards, they also come back after some time so people can still get the chance to obtain things if they missed out on it earlier.

Performance wise I should say I'm glad I've never experienced any major issues running this game. I'm aware that there are other players who were less lucky, even when running the game from high end setups (especially when the game was released and when Iceborne launched). As far as I'm aware Capcom tries to resolve this so everyone can enjoy the game.

Only negative thing: the armorset and weapons they added pre Iceborne.
The defender gear and weapons were added to offer a faster playthrough for the base game, however a lot of new players are using it to make things easy. This results in people playing through a majority of the base game without actually learning how to play properly or dodge certain monster hits. This can be frustrating for other players when using multiplayer.

A few hours into the game and absolutely loving it.
As someone who has never played the previous dmc games I was a little scared the game might seem complicated or the storyline confusing, but this is not the case at all.
I think it's a great thing they added a very brief resume of the story, explaining what happened before dmc 5 in a very simple way.

Graphics are gorgeous, gameplay feels smooth. The skill upgrade system etc aren't difficult to understand.
Characters each have their own personality and the humor is great.

- Addictive, can play it for hours and hours straight because you want to advance through the story
- Unique and awesome soundtracks

Buying the game was an impulse and at first it hurted a little because it's not so cheap, but thinking about it now, it was more than worth it.

I think a controller is highly recommended though
