It's just ok. Nothing spectacular. I was somewhat disappointed after having heard great things, but I can honestly say it felt about 15% less fun than Wolfenstien 2. Felt pretty short. Get it on sale.

A blend of Deus ex, GTA, and Destiny. Get it after its fixed. Or better yet, when It goes on sale.

Some games have great music, this music has a great game.

A moderate disappointment. You get what you pay for, which in this case is a 40$ game by EA.

It's barley ok. It would be a "Moderately Okay" Game if it worked correctly. Maybe a 7.5/10.

But most people have their leaderboard ranks broken.
Anyone can leave a match and the rest of the team takes a loss to both MMR and/or their W/L ratio.
The game is riddled with annoying, smaller bugs. Characters often randomly revert their appearance for example.
The controls are just ok. Squadrons is not rated properly for a joystick and KBM is just a pain in the butt, so the only way to really play the game normally is with an Xbox Controller.

A decent Experience. I personally love the SCP Foundation, so my experience was a little biased. TL;DR: Upgrade system bad, everything else is ok. Critical review: 6.5/10SCP Fanboi review: 9/10 My frustrations mostly have to do with the lackluster upgrading system. You can only equip a maximum of 3 mod at a time to either yourself or your weapon, and the system for doing so is incredibly simple. There are no clever synergies to be built, and no way to work towards specific mods, it's all RNG. Long story short, too simple, not rewarding enough,Every other aspect of the game was done pretty well. Story was decent, visuals clean. Controls crisp, most of the time. There are two (2) bosses I think suffer from bad design (mold boss and former), but other than that, its a decent game.

It's only alright with friends if you have all the DLC. Get it on sale.

I'll be honest, the game is alright. Not as good as Human Revolution by a long shot, but its decent. It also feels unfinished though, hence the negative review.

So, let me preface this with saying that at full price I would NOT reccomend this game, you've heard it in other reviews and you're hearing it again here. BUT the easy access of mods does help, so at a discount I would definitley recomend Xcom 2.

Pros: It's Xcom, which in of itself is a fun, immersive and interesting game.

Cons:

The interface is a dumpster fire. You are constantly fighting for control of the UI whether it be for the camera angle, or not being able to look around during enemy turns. Every time central says anything the game decides to lock down your controls, even if you've heard what he says 50 times prior. Sometimes he speaks for about 10 seconds, and on terror missions that can happen several times. This would be fixed if there was an option for a free camera and to turn off cinimatics when soldiers take a shot. Also each soldier has to wait for another unit to finish moving before they themselves start an action, meaning if the whole squad needs to reload, you will be waiting for a while. These problems can be solved with mods... sometimes... but Im not reviewing the mods, just the game itself.

Also whenever a unit is going to reveal an enemy the controls lock up making it obvious someone's going to see something.

Personally, I feel that the Squad upgrade system is BS, and that half the fun of the orginal Xcom was being able to craft individual guns and armor suits for your soldiers, but that's just my opinion.

So overall, not a very detailed review, but after playing it and beating it twice thats about as good as I can sum up my feelings for it.

It was worth playing back when it first came out, and is (probably) now better. I haven't had enough time to play it recently but I have high hopes for when I return.

This game doesn't do a very good job of syncing obstacles with music, it dies fine with the music theat it comes with but everything else doesn't match with the music.
