Truly excellent atmospheric climber and platformer. I basically never play this genre of game but Lorn is just unique and fufilling to play. Nothing beats a well coordinated set of jumps and slides, or looking out after 30 minutes of climbing and seeing you're nowhere near the end.

Best representation of Warhammer ever produced. This is the gateway for the new age of peak Warhammer.

As much as I wanted to like STWD I was really disappointed by the mechanics and enemy variety / encounters. All you do the entire game is click buttons, pull switches, replace fuses, and turn valves as interactions with objectives and levels. And of the few puzzles there were, they were extremely simple. I'm not asking for anything crazy difficult but, I just imagine they could have done some more clever interactions.

As for enemies, I was really disappointed. I barely play horror games (STWD being the first one in like 3 years for me) and was really hoping for some crazy monsters or something. Just ♥♥♥♥ to scare me. But you quickly find out that basically all the monsters act in the same way, and your interactions with them are no different. You hide in a place for them to leave, and throw something in the other corner of the room to get out of your hole and make distance. Rinse and repeat for the entire game.

This comes to me in the end, being barely at all spooked. The only things that really scared me was the atmosphere. Monsters were a tiny adrenaline rush when first meeting them. Before finding out they're all simple and the same.

Game is an un-optimized mess and absolute suffering to play. On the absolute lowest settings on my 2070 super and I7, I can barely suffer through on 20 fps in 2v2 co op multiplayer matches.

The first campaign mission I played broke halfway through. With no more enemies showing up, being unable to finish the mission.

And the pathfinding for units horrendous. I don't understand how it can be this bad. I've played a good amount of Men of War in my time and people complain about that games pathfinding. For good reason too, its not great. But this games pathfinding is 10x worse. Barely ever functions. Artillery units will just stop and setup while moving to the location I asked them to. Tanks will just stop in place and get stuck on eachother on open roads. Its an abysmal playing experience when you micromanage units to properly move where they're told, then zoom out and see that the other half of your army you were too busy to look at, has also gotten them stuck in bum♥♥♥♥ nowhere and now you have to fix them too.

Early Access Review
Its very much an early access game. In comparison to similar games like Hades and Roboquest, Battleshapers is a very rough and unfinished product.

It can be fun, but 80% of the time its rather middling and brainless. Getting your core enhancements (and the cores in general) feel weak. Especially when the core you start with, a projectile reflection based one, is entirely useless against the bosses of the game. You don't reflect any of their projectiles. It makes it feel like the build you've constructed your entire run is meaningless. Core enhancements also feel small and unimportant half the time. You can get perks that you can't even use because you don't have the prerequisite perk that makes that one work. All the while in games like Hades and Roboquest, certain perks can be entirely build / weapon defining. And comboing / stacking certain perks can lead to excellent results, and every run you do, you can always build into something slightly more unique or different than last time. Nothing like that happens in Battleshapers. Your build feels the same every run, atleast so far in my experience. The only thing that makes the runs feel any different is the guns you pick up.

The bones for a great movement shooter are there, but all the guns just feel so weak. They're not actually weak, you get great DPS guns and excellent modifiers for them, but the visual / sound design for them is lacking. They fire like peashooters.

This game will be good I'm sure. But wait a year, or however long it takes for them to get out of EA.

Just isn't as fun as the first two at all. Many puzzles follow having one person do basically all the work, and for the other to do basically nothing but wait and repeat colors or numbers. Makes for a very unsatisfying experience. Especially when many of the puzzles just seem needlessly obtuse and difficult compared to the first two games. You just reach a point where you're not happy to keep finishing puzzles since they're such a slog, and not really cooperative between two people to do.

The game has also soft locked us on levels. Making my friend and I waste upwards of half hours of our time trying to figure out what we did wrong. When the game in reality has just broken and won't let us pass.

Early Access Review
One of the most charmingly buggy games I've ever played. It's difficult to describe the game, especially so when every session I do with my friends is completely different from the last. The game altogether is a glitchy mess that makes for a hilarious fun. I haven't played the game singleplayer, only multiplayer, but I can only assume its far better that way.

To list some of the few things that have happened in my sessions.

- Engine swapped a V12 truck engine into a tiny family car, sending it flying at 120 MPH in less than 4 seconds.
- Had the car kill me in the passenger seat, then warp my body throughout the car, sending the car flying 200~ feet into the sky with both my friends still in it.
- Drove the car around in circles for 3 minutes straight, as I tried and failed to run over the CLIENTSIDE (LOL) enemy at a gas station.

And so much more.

Nothing else quite like it, love it.

This game is absolutely terrible for AMD. The game is fun sure, but on a 6800xt and a 7800X3D, with low settings and ultra performance FidelityFx, I was barely managing 144 frames. With frames dropping to 30-60's constantly. Sometimes for entire levels on random. Completely unacceptable.

First souls game I've ever played and I've been doing 11 hour gaming sessions having tons of fun. Bought it after I found myself bored and burnt out with all of my FPS games, very much worth the price tag for how many hours I'm gonna be putting in it.
