I played coh1 about 1000 hours while playing coh2 100 hours and i still thought the prequel is less responsible and 'clean' as the first one (i lost quite a lot of troops in artillery-fire without beeing able to save them)
I also enjoy the graphics of the old one much more. Sure, CoH2 has newer, fancier graphics, but beside i think the tanks looked like toys CoH1s dark and depressing theme just is better suited for ww2 than this dow-rippof.
These points make me prefer the first one. CoH2 is still better than SC2 and any other strategy-game i know, but i never get over these 2 aspects.
