No. Just. No. I am sorry, but no. I played this game's demo when it was first dropped on next fest and thought it was horrible until they apologized for it not being that good. I gave them high praise saying 'That is very responsible and I love that in a dev!' This game isn't very good still. First off, when my men (I played the swamp mission) fought in cover, they would just get shot and stand there, taking fire. Maybe it's just me, but I want a game where my troops have SOME semblance of competence. When they get shot, they should duck in cover, not stand there and just get popped some more until death. Secondly, I really hate this whole system of calling in only like three riflemen. I can kind of see it being useful as maybe like some sort of squad replenishment, but it just doesn't seem useful when you are constantly losing guys in droves. The HE shells on the swamp mission seem to also hit in a massive range that just doesn't seem to really match the actual explosion. Like my men will be further away or even in some cover a little distance away and they just get vaporized. Another thing is that it just feels like I am bashing my head against a wall way to much. I feel like if I need to take an objective, I have to throw mud at the wall and see what sticks.
My top complaints: The cover system needs work. If I have men behind a wall and they are 'in cover' they should either be able to crouch down and take less chances of getting hit, or not hit at all. The like three riflemen getting called in just isn't very useful in my opinion, but that might just be me. I also attacked three enemies and an armored car. I legit attacked them from behind and the armored car was turning it's turret, but fired BEFORE it was looking at my men. Not only that, but when my men attack from behind, it should be a quick turkey shoot, not several seconds of firing THEN the enemy drops dead. It should be a couple of gunshots, then move up.
This game needs polish. A LOT of polish before you buy it. Even at twenty dollars, it doesn't feel very good to play, the cover system is a mess, it feels like you are bashing your head against a wall, etc. I really want this game to be better and hell maybe even better the MOWAS2, but at the moment I am not seeing it. For now, stay away until it's polished more.

I don't think this game is exactly 'bad' but there are things that I really hope get ironed out a bit. First off it feels like my character is either moving so stiff I could use him as construction equipment or he moves like he is walking through jello. Maybe it's because I am used to playing Fight Night back in the day with how snappy the movement felt with that, but here it just feels so weird and doesn't feel very responsive. Punches also don't really feel like they connect when they should. I will be up close and throwing punches, but my guy will miss them while the AI wails on me with punch after punch, giving them free hits while my guy is trying to hit that fly that keeps passing by the opponent's head. The clinching is another annoying thing (but maybe that is just me) because I will try to get the guy off me, but it seems like if he puts you in a clinch, it doesn't matter what you do, he's there to stay. Another thing I don't like is the camera. Having this weird camera following you around where it's at right now makes it almost like you have to fight the controls a bit. Maybe on a controller it is better, since I am using Keyboard and mouse, but all the same, it doesn't feel very good when I am constantly fighting the camera a bit and the movement already feels clunky. I would love a more Fight Night style of camera tbh, but that might just be me. Another annoying thing is when I am beating the brakes off my opponent, he just kind of backs away and I am left there with my character jankly moving towards him, not really being able to catch him. It would be great if my guy maybe got a bit of a movement boost or was able to close the gap a bit quicker, maybe having the opponent slow way down. If it does already happen, it isn't something I really noticed. I do like the idea, however, of the ragdoll physics, but otherwise I don't know if it's just it's not my kind of game (which I can fully accept) or it feels janky for anyone else. Maybe I was expecting Fight Night styles of fighting and put my sights on something it wasn't, but it still feels extremely janky, the punch detection and some of the other things just makes it not feel very good to play.

This game is terrible. Point blank. Period. There are some things in this game that are fun, but most of it is just down right annoying. Now I play Civ once and a while, always played it when I was a kid with my father, so I do like turn based strategy like this. This game, however, is so laughably bad and has things that make no sense that it rips out any fun this game has with me and makes me just go 'Why would you add that?'
To start, they have this stupid mechanic where you get 'XP' for different things. Government XP, military XP, engineering XP even something called 'Improvement XP.' These things are used to give yourself some buffs, spawn a certain unit or do certain things in the world. For example, you might get Spartans at some point and when you get a culture power point, you can spawn Spartans into the world for free and instantly. Maybe you want to integrate a vassal or bribe a barbarian to leave you alone? You would think it would be something like 'Pay X amount of money' or 'to integrate, spend this certain thing,' nope. It's XP. Maybe you need to build an improvement to your city right now. Something like a farm or a mine. In Civ, you built a builder, had him go over, build the building and done the mine is yours. In this game...........It's another DAMN XP TYPE CALLED IMPROVEMENT XP. This system is so terrible, because you don't create workers or anything. Instead, your population is just a number of people in your city that mans the improvements. So if you need a mine or something, better have that XP stockpiled like a goblin.
The age system I don't hate. Instead of Civ's idea of 'just research stuff' you go through ages that can give you bonuses. There is basically 'standard age,' 'better age' and 'crisis age.' Some ages give you a benefit for getting there first while a 'crisis age' is basically a bad age that has some consequences. I both hate and like this idea. It's unique, but in my game I was on the border of going through the age of plague. Basically, my people needed sanitation. I was at 19/20 and built a few things to help, barely eeking by it as I tried to go into the next age. All of a sudden, I am hit with 'the Aztecs fell into the age of plague' and I got it REGARDLESS OF WHAT I DID. So that is in the middle to me.
Honestly, the XP thing is this games greatest flaw to me. Everything else is just kind of 'I can do that in Civ,' except for the idea of creating your own nation and feeling like you don't need to subscribe to that nation's ideas. You don't need to be Teddy from Civ, which I guess can make everything feel kind of 'meh.' That and the game needs some quality of life things like an auto-scout button. Why they didn't think 'We should add an auto-scout button' is beyond me. I would say this game is an avoid because of the fact that certain main things you need are locked behind the XP idea like settlers, bribing, spawning envoys, etc. The graphics are meh as well, but I do like the fact that some things feel like a supply chain is needed. Like you need a logging camp to make logs, then a papermill to make paper and on and on for improvements, but it's also just kind of 'meh' to me.

So I really like this game. Right off the bat, it has a very nice, bright art style and the gameplay is fun with you parrying, dodging, attacking and using the environment to your advantage. It's combat and such are pretty basic with you just basically whittling the enemy's guard down and hitting them a few times to make them fall, but it works. The main focus on combat, however, is the fact that enemies will attack you in two or three pairs sometimes if they can. You can parry one, but not all three! So using your environment like kicking crates, explosive barrels, even kicking enemies down stair cases to create room really helps. There are a few enemy variants, but nothing to really write home about. There are about 4 'bosses' and I use that in quotes because the bosses are kind of like regular enemies just with more health. There is no skill trees or unlockable equipment, but I think that is appropriate for this game, since it is mostly a fun game that isn't meant to be heavy on the whole 'I need X amount of EXP to get my next skill' or 'I can't wait to get my next sword.' What you get is what you get and for this game, I like it.
The negatives I have is that it is very short. (At the time of typing this) I beat the story in 2.8 hours on medium difficulty and kind of only died a few times and only on the last boss fight. I will say that the combat does feel like it gets a little stale as you play, not really giving you much in terms of new attacks or anything, just giving you three skills and that's it.
All in all, it's a fun game that has some pretty cool things to do, just wish it was longer and there was more to it. I would say this game NEEDS more meat on its bone. There is an arena mode, but that's just a wave mode to fool around in. It's not a terrible game at all and I think this game is perfect for people who just want a fun sword fighting game.

I really like this game so far. It has a massive amount of potential to be a great game for both people who like some more simple flight sims, but also people who enjoy arcade style flight games. It has that feel of 'you need to know the controls, but you don't need to know EVERY SWITCH' feel to it. You need to know how to taxi, what button hits the brake, but you don't need to worry about the flaps or worry about which switches start the engine. You need to know what is good against IR missiles and radar lock missiles, the fact distances will effect your missile locks, things like that, but the game isn't going to be DCS world where you have to bust open the flight manual you just so happened to buy for some reason. Controls are simple enough to understand and learn, but the game still has a bit of getting used to for those that aren't really into flight games. The plane selection is a bit basic, but it gets the job done, with about 5 planes and one attack helicopter, all of which have the ability to have their loadouts customized. I would say if you are looking for a more casual experience with flight sims, but still have a bit of thinking behind it, this game is good to pick up.

So I am only just passed the first real mission you get after escaping off the station as the assistant director and have to say, I am loving this game. This game is a fun experience where you really do feel like you are against the aliens. You deploy with a squad of four or five (later I assume) and have to go about finding things like supplies, ammo, etc. in the map, as well as complete objectives. I am playing it on EASY because I absolutely suck at these kinds of games, but I still find it challenging. It's not like your guys just go 'oh there's one *bang* aaand done.' The aliens still provide a challenge that can get your guys killed rather quickly. I had to restart the first real boss fight at least five times because of those ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ FACEHUGGER ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ GRABBING MY MEN. You will die and you have two choices: Accept that and play the game as intended, taking the loss like a chad and a good player....Or be a scumbag like me and load a save...If you can. There are no saves during the mission, at least from what I saw, unless you reach a checkpoint before a major fight or if you rest in a room, the game will save there. Marines are not dumb and I thought I would have a problem with positioning, but they all kind of act like one blob of guys. They don't really move by themselves unless you order them to search something, but even then the squad will post up and defend that marine, unless called away to do something else. The game can feel a little unfair at times, ngl, with the first boss having four facehuggers in the same room that can just one shot your guys pretty much. The first boss fight I had to restart was just because of them, not the actual boss, and that is because those facehuggers FLY across the room. I ran my guys to the opposite side, away from the facehuggers, trying to get some distance and I swear they have tiny rocket boosters because they propelled their asses forward. The management aspect isn't really anything hard. It gives you chances to decide on something like 'spend resources or your guys can't heal' or 'give the marines a day off to rest so they are all good, or push them and take a penalty' things like that. Supplies are used for buying guns or upgrades for soldiers, research is used to research better equipment which you get off dead aliens, pretty simple stuff. I will say it is kind of annoying when you have to try to look for small things in the world or those Facehuggers, because by the time you see the little icon pop up to shoot them, it's kind of to late and you might lose a marine instantly, so it does feel a little unfair, but I get why it's hard to see them.
TL;DR. DO YOU LIKE XCOM? DO YOU LIKE THE ALIENS MOVIE? ARE YOU OKAY WITH A GAME THAT WILL KICK YOU IN THE NUTS WITH STEEL TOED BOOTS A LOT? BUY THE GAME.

A demo that showcases eight days of fighting zombies, scavenging and surviving the day to day life of survivors. The game allows you to convert existing structures to suit your needs like housing, storage, etc. even have a place converted to research. The game is honestly pretty simple with you tasking people to do things during the day and defending at night. Pretty typical stuff for a zombie game, but not bad at all. You can risk your squads to go out and scavenge at night, but it isn't advised, as they can be overwhelmed pretty quick. You can also get different weapons, ranging from pistols to assault rifles (ATM BECAUSE THIS IS A DEMO) and bows and arrows in the towers you build to protect your base. It is honestly a pretty fun game, but kind of basic in terms of mechanics, though there will be more things in the game on release like different calls on the radio, structures, etc. Combat is pretty simple with your guys usually staying safe in a building and automatically firing at enemies, though they don't carry a whole lot of ammo which can be their downfall, unless they are at HQ. Something I would like to suggest to the devs would be to add a quick jump to HQ, since sometimes I would find myself a bit away from the HQ building and have to zoom all the way out, scroll to the HQ and zoom back in, when it would be better to maybe have a button that lets me jump to HQ. All in all, very fun demo for a game I am excited for.

I am not going to rag on the multiplayer or the zombies, because I haven't played them for a good while. I am going to focus on the campaign, because I have always felt COD games have always focused on being campaign focused. This campaign isn't terrible persay, but it's not good either. It's like a WWII shooter drama. I am not going to lie, if you were to put up 'drama show stereotypes' then this game I feel would check a lot of boxes. The higher command having their head up their asses, the sergeant who has a secret past but always acts like a jerk, the lieutenant who tries to keep everyone alive, the best friend who is with you from the start, the veteran who acts like the cool guy, the nerdy camera dude and, at some point, a black soldier that just kind of pops up and is with you for maybe a few missions (like 3?) and doesn't really contribute anything of substance. This game's whole thing is over the top set pieces and graphics, but that's about it. If you have ever seen any drama shows, you will know what happens to one character, then this happens and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ it happened. The weapons don't feel punchy enough, where you have certain weapons that just shwack enemies while some weapons just don't do enough. The sounds, graphics and set pieces are awesome to see as well, but that is really the only plus I can give it.
PS. YOU HAVE TWO VEHICLE SECTIONS, ONE IS A TANK AND THE OTHER A PLANE. IF YOU BUY THIS GAME, I IMPLORE YOU, PLEAD WITH YOU, PLUG IN A CONTROLLER BECAUSE KEYBOARD AND MOUSE WILL NOT CUT IT.
I don't think this is game where I would say 'Don't play it,' but I can't say this game is a game to purchase full price. If you really need this game in your life, wait for a sale.

I was given this game to me from a friend of mine and was super interested in it because I like the idea of just commanding a smaller unit in a big army, instead of commanding a ton of men in one giant army. This idea is great...Until you play the DLC where the AI will just not work to your advantage at all and under no circumstances think through things for the battle. If you are in artillery, the AI will send you to the frontline, at the start of a battle, you will be given an order to go capture a point which is usually defended by the enemy, but when you move out, YOU ARE LUCKY IF THE ARMY FOLLOWED YOU OR WENT THERE. There have been so many times when the orders change on the flick of a switch and you are caught by yourself because you were told to go to that point and fight, but then told to run away last second. The AI on BOTH sides it seems are incredibly passive (granted I played this on the AI being passive, but it's still extremely passive even on your side) where you will sit there in one spot not able to do anything except maybe buy (yes, buy) some upgrades like a few items, maybe a sword and revolver or a horse. There are great ideas here like having your guy go do a fundraiser to give your character more money (Mine got 500 dollars) and use the money to buy things you want or have your men drilled and they become more specialized, but it is ultimately bogged down so heavily by the wonky AI in the battles and on the campaign map that makes it unfun. That and your unit will break rather easily, leaving your men to retreat off the map. I had a moment where I had an advantage on a group of soldiers. I charged them and my men instantly broke. They ran off the entire map and we lost. While it might not mean much when you are able to command and entire army, seeing your one group that outnumbers another enemy group, charge and instantly break is just stupid. That and you might not even have your commander come and fight in the battle AT ALL. I decided to break rank because my entire corps(?) stayed behind while everyone else fought on the frontlines. The battle lasted three days and NOT A SINGLE UNIT OF OURS MOVED UP. ♥♥♥♥ the AI, ♥♥♥♥ this DLC and the fact it failed at ideas that made me really want to like it. I am so pissed off because this sounded like an extremely great and fun idea, but it was shafted and ruined, burned at the stake because of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ AI and its problems. Until the devs (Who I am sure are great people) fix this, DO NOT BUY THIS DLC

Going to get right into it with Trepang2 is AWESOME. They say what they mean when they put 'You are a supersoldier.' You feel like it. Being able to turn invisible, slow down time, dual wield weapons (at some point) and kill countless enemies. Graphically, game is really good looking. The guns feel weighty and meaty when they hit someone, especially the shotgun. Using your powers to get that nice edge on the enemy, great! If you want a game where you are running around, blowing people's heads off, killing them left and right, this game is perfect....HOWEVER.
The game is rather short. I did kind of blitz through the game, running it on easy and collecting stuff as I went along and found it. It took me about six hours to complete, probably if you are on a much harder difficulty, it will take longer of course. Weapon variety is here and there, but nothing really stands out. You have your pistol, rifle, smg, shotgun, then a grenade launcher, some kind of bolt launcher and a 'minigun.' I use that in quotes because it isn't the kind of minigun we think of, like a giant honking behemoth of a weapon like in Call of Duty, but they do try to give you some upgrades you can find in the levels for these guns. Things like incendiary shotgun shells, suppressors, etc. to try and give you something new. Enemy variety is kind of on the lower end. Most of the enemies you fight are standard troops that use rifles, shields, pistols and smgs. You have juggernauts that tank bullets and use heavy hitting gear like the shotgun or minigun, but there are really only a few times when you have some other worldly enemies. Like one mission has kind of these zombie types of enemies, but they are really only there for that one mission then never seen again. Another has a threat that is blind and can't see you, but I really only found it in that one section. There are bosses and they can be pretty cool, but they are kind of far and few in between. The story, while cool at first, being a super soldier and all, kind of falls flat in the end. Not going to spoil it, for people who do want to play it, but I just want to warn that it kind of falls a bit flat in the end. Not terrible, just a bit flat.
Tl;dr it's a good game and can have really awesome points like dual wielding shotguns or using some poor soldier's body as a human shield and throwing them with a grenade active. You can get a lot of really cool unlockables to like some datapads that give you a bit more lore and reports, some customization, but it isn't anything ground breaking (Changing your glove color and such, but not face or anything), you have some combat simulation missions, some side objectives with some cool things happening there, even unlocking cheats for fun times in the game. Overall, if you want a game where you just want to feel like a super soldier, killing poor soldiers while they die in droves, this game is awesome and worth a buy. If you are on the fence because the story does fall a bit flat, wait for a sale, but I fully believe 30 dollars for this (USD) is a good price for this.
