A Hidden Gem I Almost Missed – Return to Moria is a Love Letter to Tolkien Fans

When I first heard about Return to Moria, my initial reaction was honestly, “What is this crap?” I hadn’t seen much buzz around it, and the name didn’t exactly scream “blockbuster.” I wasn’t expecting anything at all—just another mediocre attempt to cash in on Tolkien’s legacy, I thought.

But being a lifelong Tolkien fan, I was craving something—anything—that could capture that magical, dark, awe-inspiring feel of Middle-earth again. I went digging for a Lord of the Rings-style game and, to my surprise, Return to Moria popped up. I figured, “Why not?” and gave it a shot.

And I’m so glad I did.

From the very first moment you step into the shadowy depths of Khazad-dûm, the game just gets it. The atmosphere is thick with lore. You just have to read it and i realy do not mind. You feel the weight of history in every ruined hallway, every crumbling staircase, every echo of a long-forgotten battle. It’s clear that the developers didn’t just slap Tolkien’s name on a generic fantasy game—they immersed themselves in the world and poured that love into every detail.
Sure its not the best game there ever was, it does not add a special new combat or building system. The gameplay is not groundbreaking but i cant stop playing it! i love to be a dwarf smack orcs and retake the halls for myself.
BUUT the gameplay, mining, crafting, building, exploring—is incredibly satisfying, at least for me. There’s something engaging about reclaiming the lost halls of the dwarves, bit by bit. And the attention to the lore is very good. It follows the books not the movies and if you read the books you will notice it. Dwarvish inscriptions, ancient songs, hidden relics, it all feels so authentic. They just nailed it.
I went in expecting nothing. I came out with one of my favorite gaming experiences in years.

If you’re a Tolkien fan you will love it. Well this is the longest review i have ever written but it had to be done.

Realy a waste of money.
I cant play in offline mode. Every time i try to start a offline campain it brings me back to the main manu.
I wanted to play this game in my vacation in my free time but it wont even let me play because of this bug. i tried everything.

The Witcher 3 is love, the Witcher 3 is life.

I loved the narrative, the city, the music and the ambience.
The gameplay can be a bit tedious but the excellent story lets you easily forget this small issue.

Diese Spiel bietet eine unmenge an Möglichkeiten. Man kann darin wirklich alles machen. Alle Waffen und rüstungen die man sieht können gefunden und getragen werden, die Hintergrundgeschichten sind oft nocht interessanter wie die HAuptstory weil sich alle Überkreuzen und die Story bilden die wir hier vorfinden. Vor allem die Mods machen das Spiel noch geiler da es schon ziemlich alt ist. Aber dieses Spiel ist wie eine guter Whisky, desto älter desto besser.
