DULL THE KNIVES BEND THE FORKS SMASH THE BOTTLES AND BURN THE CORKS CHIP THE GLASSES AND CRACK THE PLAAAAATES THATS WHAT BILBO BAGGINS HATES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The game starts with good exploration aspects. It has some bugs, but they are mostly forgiveable.

After you've made it through the first area however, you discover that it's just repetition beyond that - the rooms are identical, there are no new enemy types, the equipment is just the same but level 2, level 3, etc of the same...there's not much creativity.

We got about halfway through the game and just sort of gave up... there just doesn't feel like there's anything new to look forward to.

I recently set myself a goal to try and play through my steam library which had become full of unplayed titels due to me playing mostly competetive multiplayer games. I also gave myself the condition of writing a review to every game I play to share my experience, be they good or bad.

A Friend of mine and I played this game in Coop-Campaign mode so everything in this review will be purely about Campaign.
The game starts with a solid introduction into the basic functions as well as a go to base close to the beginning where you can set up and make your way further into the mines. The goofy platforming due to the easy building on walls and the rolling which kind of seem unintuitive for dwarves gives the game a certain flair that I enjoyed very much.
You get a standart progressing system through new materials as often seen in similiar survival/basebuilding games.
Altough I have to admit that i cant really say much about base bulding as you are not required to build any walls/floors anywere as there are more than enough prebuild bases in the campaign mode (all you need to do is fill them with the necessary work stations).

Now some criticism about the game:
Weapons: You cant believe how often you hear "I need a better weapon" in this game, you will often find enemies that are "stronger" than your weapon level at the current state which would be fine if there was any need to backtrack in the mines which is close to none existent and seems to only exist to frustrate you more and more as you encounter it.

Armor: There seems to be a stat called "Armoreffectiveness" so what I am saying now could be false but in my understanding Armor is nothing more than extra HP so with full armor you can tank like 8 hits instead of 2 which in my opinion felt very silly and weak the whole game.

Stats: There is an option to see into your stats which are very detailed (like 40 diffrent ones if not more). There are some brews which can alter these but the game never really explained any of it and 80% of them are at 0 the whole game as long as you are not buffed by a potion. I dont get why they even bothered with the detailed look on it if you never really interact with it on a min/max basis.

Ending: I try not to spoiler to much. At the very end you are supposed to kill the final boss with your next Ore Upgraded weapon. The Problem, you only get a blueprint for a single weapon typ which also is a masterwork weapon (there can only be one masterwork item in your inventory) so say "bye" to whatever masterwork you are carrying right now. Trying do damage the boss in any other way is impossible. After the fight you unlock every other blueprint for this weapon class. Doesnt make much sense to me as for most players the campaign will be over in the next 15 minutes and now they had to finish the game with a forced and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ weapon (in my opinion) for no reason at all.

In the end I was a bit dissapointed how it all ended but the game was still kinda fun over its 25 hrs of playtime
I would give it a solid 7/10 and recommend the buying price at 20€
