My first memory of playing video games was back in the 70's when I was about 5 years old.
Family was visiting some friends and they had a game machine hooked up to a TV.
The game used paddles as controllers which moved a rectangle up and down on the left side of the screen to deflect a square ball to try and get it past the opponents rectangle on the right side of the screen to score a point.
The game is called pong and it is the first commercially made video game ever made.
On the first day the Pong arcade machine was installed on site in a UK pub it broke down - not because of a mechanical fault but because the coin box couldn't hold any more coins.
That was a good indication of how popular gaming was going to be and much money the video games industry was going to bring in.

I also remember playing Pinball around the same age (even though I could barely see the table) and being amazed by the experience - and also amazing my uncle as I was a natural and thrashed his scores.


### FAVOURITE GAMES THAT I RECOMMEND ###

Fun game play that flows is priority to me.
Good game design (in my opinion) doesn't bog a player down in tonnes of micro management, constant loot selling, convoluted puzzles, long load screens or choppy frame rates.
Some game designers use a lot of tricks to slow down game play so they don't have to make more content.
Making it hard to get from point A - B for example is one way.
The games I recommend below have enjoyable game play first and foremost.

RAIDEN Legacy - one of those arcade games that i just keep coming back to - because it's great.

NECROMUNDA: HIRED GUN: - Fps with standout maps, fluid framerates, good combat and more!

INJUSTICE 2 - Comic book hero beat 'em up that is just fun. Story mode is enjoyable.

PINBALL FX - Outstanding scan line reproduction's of real world pinball tables. Plays great too.

PRO PINBALL ULTRA - A digital pinball so good they made it into a real table. 10 years for me to be the master of time. So satisfying when you get in the zone.

DARIUSBURST CS - Timeleless arcade shoot em up action that has so much good gameplay. If you have 3 monitors you can play in mega ultra triple widescreen in 8k. Crazy

FORZA HORIZON 4 - Looks and plays as good as an arcade sim racer can.

GEARS of WAR 5 - Campaign is good but HORDE mode is better. Co- op blast.

ELEX - Euro open world RPG with a good story,combat and game engine.

FLATOUT ULTIMATE CARNAGE - Don't let the age of this destruction racer fool you. It's excellent.

CRIMZON CLOVER WORLD EXPLOSION - Remastered arcade shoot em up that is timeless.

MUSHIHIMESAMA - Another quality arcade bullet hell shoot em up.

MORTAL SHELL - Merciful 3rd person ARPG that looks good and is fun to play. Like DS, not as hard.

OUTRIDERS - 3rd person action game that is truly great in every aspect, a MUST own.

ROAD REDEMPTION - Modern take on ROAD RASH but with lotsa guns added.

DODONPACHI RESURRECTION - Bullet hell schmup that is tough as nails but fun!

VAMPYR - Enjoyable gameplay in this 3rd person ARPG. Characters and story a stand out. Voice actors so bang on you will be impressed.

MASS EFFECT ANDROMEDA - Haters be damned,good combat and missions made this fun to finish

REFLEX - Classic old school arcade shoot em up.

DEVIL MAY CRY 5 - Fun combat, good visuals and quality design combine to make a fun action blast

DAYS GONE - Excellent 3rd person action RPG with bikers. Gameplay and story combine well here

NIOH 2 - Such a great action RPG that gets better the more you play and further you progress. End game is strong here with a TON of fun gameplay. Excellent.

MAD MAX - Another 3rd person ARPG that is a hidden gem. Fighting groups of thugs is handled so well. Fun factor - yep it's here.

RESIDENT EVIL 2 - This remaster was well worth the play through. Didn't get into the original Res Evil but played through this and loved it.

QUANTUM BREAK - Cool story backed up with enjoyable gameplay. Looks great too, in fact waiting on the 5090 to replay it and see this game at it's shiniest and smoothest.

BIOSHOCK 1,2 and 3 - Classic 1st person shooters. Remastered 1 and 2 improve high frame rate gaming and should be experienced. 3 is great too.

DEAD SPACE 1,2,3 - All 3 are well worth the play through. Surprisingly good 3rd person space horror action that received a remastered original.

F.E.A.R - Don't let it's age fool you. Cool horror story backed up by quality shooting mechanics including bullet time and silky frame rates. Number one is the best.

TWIN COBRA - Pure arcade shootemup action. still aiming for 1CC (1 credit clear), still loving it after all these years. The Steam version is great.

TRUXTON - Just like Twin Cobra and just as great. Aracde shootemup blast.

The ASCENT - Modern twin stick shooter with a BREATHTAKING cyberpunk world. Stunning.
