Swirl W@tch is a video game that the developer and the community of, whatever little there is, is disconnected with the word "fun". It's not about the story, or about the gameplay, it's about how challenging the game is. It's the most hardcore of hardcore. The most ridiculous of ridiculous. It's hard to make it look engaging, because usually it isn't

When you look at this game, it feels like it has the potential to be the next Hotline Miami, or Deus Ex, or both at the same time. An amazing synergy of combat and stealth that offers a variety of tools to rush through the levels, terrorising, infiltrating, and blowing apart things as you go. A force of nature. A true revenge on society for what it has done to you. Yes. But the reality is that doesn't sound interesting to most people who play video games. People who play video games enjoy only boasting about their ego. Talking about how large their achievements are. "Look at me, I beat this level with both of my arms detached from my body". "I speedran this game under seven minutes". "My score is the highest. I used the managlow!!!"

Therefore, instead of aiming to let you actually use the tools that there are, you are not... You are meant to camp by a road, and stack corpses of clueless guards on top of each other. Taking 4 hours to beat every level, because the only weapons the game gives you are a screwdriver and a tactical flare. And your enemies are a dinosaur with a laser rifle and a swarm of heavily armoured time-warping goombas with rocket launchers.

There used to be a strategy I kinda liked. And I enjoyed it very much. A strategy that allowed me to play as a potent hybrid that would utilise both stealth and combat to get through the levels. I sacrificed stealth augments and tools for weapons, so that when I got caught, I could fight back. Upon learning of the existence of this strategy because I talked about it on the developer's Discord. It was triple nerfed. Not only was my strategy nerfed, but a whole system was completely overhauled just to prevent the player from being able to even deal damage to most enemies.

The gameplay now consists out of 24/7 spam of torpedoes, catching jellyfish with a net lnchr and camping by lanes. Whilst people who have 300 hours in this game and only care about doing CHALLENGE RUNS explain to you how POVERTY ENFORCES CREATIVITY... Like a bunch of Buddhist monks crossed with Kim Jong Un worshippers

Honestly, this game has like 5 players... And they're all confused as to why is it not popular. And the developer themselves constantly whines about the fact that they have to work on this game, because honestly why? I'll tell you why not, because if it ain't fun, why bother? And this game isn't fun. It's just a way to kill time. A way not to think about your miserable empty life, as you get constantly punished in a masochistic cycle of torment
