Bought it to try and play with my wife, and half of our 2h playtime was spent just trying to get into a game together. Sometimes the game will let us join our server, and sometimes the "continue" button is grayed out and unclickable, apparently for no reason. The few times we actually managed to make it into a game, our only reward was an awful UI, clunky gameplay, and mobile-style monetization and a "click here to collect your reward" currency system.

Given that Valheim exists and Medieval Dynasty is adding coop soon, there's no reason to buy this game.

I'm amazed more people aren't talking about this - as of the launch of the new "EA App" that replaced Origin, you're now required to be online to launch and play ME:LE. This is a dramatic change from the previous Origin app, which allowed you to play offline. The game won't launch at all if the EA App servers are down (which appears to be common, given the hundreds of posts about it in the EA forums), or if e.g. you're away from home on your Steam Deck.

The new EA App also sets itself to run when you start your computer and silently runs several processes in the background, even when not being used. You can (and should) disable this within EA App via the dropdown in the top-left -> Settings -> Application.

cool aesthetic, but otherwise a bland collector-shooter

surprisingly deep - the trailer really doesn't do this game justice. there's an enormous galactic map that you're completely free to explore, a zillion different quests, and working together to run the ship is super fun.
