A lazy and lacklustre porting attempt from console to PC - don't even try to play this game without a controller. Dated graphics, tiny playerbase (meaning nobody to co-op with or invade), no storyline at all. One of the hardest things you'll fight in this game is the camera. A game not hand-holding is one thing, but being needlessly obtuse to create artificial difficulty is another. If a player needs to check a gaming wiki just to figure out what the 12 different stats do, it's simply poor game design.

great art direction and a neat atmosphere dragged down by clunky gameplay, a complete lack of storyline, and a reliance on jumpscares.

less a videogame, and more an interactive movie on rails. frequently your only input will be to choose the order in which you ask someone a set of predetermined questions as you investigate a series of murders. combat with demons - the only enemies in the game, outside of cutscenes - feel more like a worthless speedbump than an entertaining mechanic. however, if you can force yourself through the tedious, mediocre gameplay, you'll find a fantastic whodunit that will keep you guessing right up until the end. the overall concept, voice acting and art direction are absolutely superb, but unfortunately, poor execution, clunky controls, and repetitive, thoughtless "scene investigations" will probably bore and frustrate most players into quitting before they get all the way through what is otherwise a great story. it's worth a buy on the merits of the story alone, but expect some tough slogging through the mud to get all the way to the end. buy it on sale, ignore the terrible gameplay and stick it out to the end to watch a neat psychological thriller / whodunit crossover, and then uninstall it forever.

art direction is fantastic - everything else is horrible. it's fairly standard "run around collecting items and solving easy puzzles" sidescroller faire. controls are awkward and clunky, which is especially frustrating on a few specific levels where you're forced to run away from something trying to catch you. the voice acting is monotone and emotionless, and more or less feels like they just grabbed some dudes off the street outside their office to run through the lines. the ending is supposed to be a dramatic twist, but given that there's no character development, and really no reaon for you to care about these characters at all, the only real emotion it's going to conjure up in you is disappointment that you spent $15 on a game that caps out at 2 hours of gameplay. all in all, this was a title that had great promise, but terrible execution at nearly every stage of development, as well as a laughable two hours of gameplay, make it entirely skippable and uninteresting. 1.5/5.
