Argh, sorry to hear about that. Tropico should make up for it, as long as you remember the precautions about not building too much at once and always minding the bus routes. Other things are something you can keep tabs on while playing more or less leisury, as opposed to a stressful challenge, but forgetting about transport or expanding too greedily can lead to much stress. But if you're okay with just reloading if something goes bad, then the stress shouldn't be too big anyway.

It's good. It's not perfect, but it's good. If you get it at a discount you probably won't be unhappy with it. Just remember to get bus connections between parts of your city where people live and parts where they work and parts where they find entertainment, or else they'll spend the majority of their time walking between places and not actually working. Building too much at once can be disastruous, but expanding too slowly, too gradually, can kill your economy too, so you need to find the right balance.
