Amazing game in some ways even better than the third game in the series. I recommend playing all three from first to last as well as reading the books if you really want all the backstories and information possible. The world of The Witcher is so detailed and there is so much folklore injected into the story that it makes for fantastical yet realistic storytelling. It is a very gritty series where there is no black and white/ good and evil. So if your a fan of the grey area then this is the series for you. The first two hold up very well to this day and the third is an absolute Masterpiece of gaming. It is the best game ever made in my humble opinion.

Edit: Why dark mode was left out of the Witcher 3 is beyond me, it is one of the hardest most rewarding gaming experiences ever crafted with bad ass gear to boot. Witcher 2 on dark mode is unbelievable, albeit it much more linear than the third game in the series though no less great. If your really up for a challenge there is insane difficulty which allows for permadeath if killed restarting the entire adventure from the very beginning each time Geralt dies. Good luck with that...
