development is long dead, ignore the "features are coming" in the description.

as everyone else mentions, voices of the void is the true spiritual successor to this. it's also free.

this game has possibly the most incredible level of effort with regards to continuity in side characters to the point its wild.

although you can feel the early 2000s in the script.

it's vanilla, but it's good.

Early Access Review
Finished one playthrough (early access) as a leet hacker, necromancer, gunslinger who's all about the EGO.

Ended up controlling a swarm of hackers + zombies that could basically tank any bullets I couldn't slow-mo my way out of. If they did end up surviving, they'd have to meet the full automatic rocket launcher that I could get a burst of infinite ammo for.

Game is goated, hacking strong, and pretty sure you can go through most missions without killing anybody.

Dreadfully original, absurd, and terminally online.

short, comfy, and incredibly pretty. it felt like a recreation of someone's happy place when they were a kid.

made me nostalgic for a place I've never been, but in a good way

game had a lot of potential, but was cut too short by lack of updates / meaningful progression / terrible story.

you can get hooked on the progression, but the different progression systems feel disjoint and meaningless, and stop abruptly without much impact.

it feels hollow, but at least the music is good.

it's violent, fast-paced, stylish, and has a banging soundtrack.

it's short (sadly) and it's also free. ♥♥♥♥ slaps, go play it.

This game made me empathize with a chef that is a ball of moss, and a traffic light AI.

made me cry/10

I came into this hoping for a good game and came out just sad.

This is one of the most recent games I've played that has aged horribly.

Unsatisfying movement, melee, and shooting.
Accidentally cheesable boss fights
AI can shoot at you through walls without beeing seen
Stealth unbelieveably broken (you can headshot an entire enemy squad and they'll just stand there)
Horrible enemy AI.

It's like the MSGV method of having many ways to approach a mission, but they all end up just plain boring.

Don't waste your money.
