So, I purchased Trails of Cold Steel on Vita when it came out many years ago, and played about 1 hour of it. I wasn't too into JRPGs at that point (still not) and I heard there were other games I should play first, and it felt slow, so I just gave up... I recently wanted to give the series a go though, so I started here, and so far the writing is brilliant. The story hasn't even really started yet, but you can tell they spent a lot of time on the dialogue, even the non-important parts, that are just introducing you to the world. I want to catch up in the series before Daybreak 2 comes out in 2025. I love games with good stories, and this series, one that spans almost 10 games or whatever, will be right up my alley. Once I get to Cold Steel, I will probably be playing it on my Vita for old times sake lol. But yes, so far, I really like the systems in this game, and it honestly doesn't feel as outdated as I thought it would.
