Ah… Against the Storm. A game worthy of my hoard, though I cannot lie — even I, was caught off guard by the allure of this tempestuous gem.

You are no mere builder of cities, oh no. You are a viceroy, tasked by a burning queen to tame a wild and storm-ravaged world, where each settlement is but a fleeting candle in the dark — and the storm hungers to snuff it out. Every game is a new map, a new peril, a new chance to prove you are cleverer than the very skies.

The loop is intoxicating. Construct. Expand. Exploit. Abandon. Start anew. Like forging a golden empire atop shifting sands. The species — beavers, lizards, humans, harpies — they squabble and thrive under your command, their quirks a delightful complication. Ah, how I delight in managing their desires, trading their labor for prosperity and watching my settlements burn bright before the inevitable storm devours them.

The game is gorgeously brooding. The music hums like thunder in the distance, and the art drips with atmosphere — a decadent decay I find most charming.

My only complaint? Time. It vanishes in the storm, stolen away as I say, "just one more settlement." But that is not a flaw… it is a curse well-earned.
