This was the first fighting game I ever really got into. Its the pinnacle airdasher and French Bread's original masterpiece. I have played this game multiple hundreds of hours off-Steam.

The Steam port of this game has pretty terrible netcode, even compared to ArcSys delay based netcode. If you buy this, you either just want to play offline, or are like me and treat it like a donation. If you want to seriously play Melty Blood with other people online, download the community version, it has rollback netcode and is actually populated .
