it's a good game that feels very rewarding once you start to get the hang of it after a couple hours. it reminds me of how i felt when i finally started getting the hang of rocket league. i've sunk way more hours in to this than i ever expected to.

the only gripe i have with it is when you play on servers that aren't on the lowest possible ping for you. when your ping is even a little high, the game will feel pretty stuttery and your movements can feel really delayed. this is pretty important for this game, so it is a bit annoying - especially when you're trying to play with friends that live all over the country.

it's a very good and fun game overall! im glad northernlion checked this out and was able to help it gain some more traction because i think it deserves it.

Mouthwashing is unlike any experience I've had with a game in my whole life.
I would recommend this game to everybody - because it is just that good.

Mouthwashing does everything that it wants fantastically. It has a cast of well-written characters, a tense and detailed environment, unnerving body and psychological horror, great sound design and music, and an unraveling story that makes you never want to put the game down until you see the credits roll. The length of this game isn't very long, but it is exactly the length it should be. The developers made sure that every minute of gameplay was put together like an intricate puzzle and they didn't have any unneeded fluff that made it seem like it ever dragged on.

I would recommend this game to anyone and everyone. If you are even an iota interested in this, play it.

I wish I could experience playing this game for the first time again. 1000% recommended.

it's a good game. (i played many hours before the game was put on Steam)

the negative reviewbombs are unwarranted because Ironmace was attempting to give people a taste of the game for free, but since Steam lists the game as "Free to Play" many people assumed the FULL game was free to play, even though Dark and Darker has been $30 since its beginning - before it was on Steam.

i understand why some new free-to-play players may have felt misled, but the devs listened to the free-to-play community's critique and removed the gear caps for free-to-play players in a quick turnaround (it took them only 1 day) since being listed on Steam. unfortunately, the reviewbombs have already had their effect. this is one of the major downsides of Steam's review system, anyone with a brain can download a free-to-play game and make a review - this especially sucks when a game like Dark and Darker has a difficulty curve that a lot of people won't understand immediately.

i agree with one of the top reviews for this game; if Dark and Darker was listed at $30, and not Free to Play, the majority of the reviews would be positive. the game has its flaws, but overall it is very enjoyable once you get the hang of it or get a group of friends together to goof around in it with.

saw this game pop up in a Nintendo Direct and am very happy i played through it many months later. the story, characters, puzzles, and soundtrack make it a no-brainer to recommend imo.

game is a total pain in the ass to run even with patches and i don't think it's worth the hassle if you're looking to play more Splinter Cell. just go play Chaos Theory again instead of this.

for context, i love CT and i just replayed it before this. Double Agent felt like a serious downgrade (at least this version of it - not the xbox/ps2 version, but i haven't played that either) with a disjointed story and less focus on stealth. the game looks good graphics-wise for its age, but it was pretty disappointing overall. i'm trying to play through the SC series and i was looking forward to completing this game after bugs stopped me from playing through it over 15 years ago (and they still did now.....).

if you're looking to play through the series of SC, do yourself a favor and skip this one (at least this version). maybe someday i'll go play the xbox/ps2 version of this game because apparently it's completely different from this one and much better despite some differences.

it's a good game and very fun. i understand the negative reviews about the devs falsely advertising some stuff and changing it after the game officially released, but the game is still good regardless of that.
