Poor voice acting, story, and puzzles. It's a point and click with wonky controls to add timed puzzles and walking animations. Very short: not worth the full price.

Cannot get it to work. It keeps quitting out of games, and finally it just quit to desktop.
Would have returned it, but steam was giving it away.

Tries to make two games in one (store managing and dungeon crawling), but neither one is fun. The store prices are this guessing game of finding the right price, with joystick controls for setting the numbers, then the dungeon is very repetitive and lacks interesting creatures. I pushed myself to defeat the first boss, by playing the same level over and over for getting suitable upgrades, and I just did not have fun doing it. I really wanted to like this game, but it lacks the charm or smooth UI of many other social basebuilders that I have enjoyed.

Fun game to play co-op on gamepad controllers. Lots of gameplay like, P1 moves left leg, P2 moves right leg. Excellent voice acting and funny dialogue. A bit short on content, however, but there is a "beat your best time" type gameplay to replay levels again. It gets difficult: 50% of steam owners got the Chapter 2 achievement, but only 22% got the Chapter 6 achievement. I would watch a community video of later part of gameplay to ensure you want a game that has purposefully difficult controls.

We controlled Samuel, manually, with an ubuntu linux desktop computer and two xbox-type gamepad controllers. (Also tried one gamepad and keyboard.) It worked flawlessly without any technical issues.

Fun little twin-stick, survival game for couch-coop, with a dash of crafting. I would caution folks regarding the price, since I have not seen a ton of features, but overall the gameplay is solid and the user interface works well with gamepad controllers. I played only for a little while on an Ubuntu Linux desktop, but I wanted to write a quick review to get this game some more exposure.

Really solid gameplay, story, and level design. If you have never heard of it before, then know it was one of the first games that had destructable objects, in a way that explosives could leave a crater that allowed passage. I enjoyed playing Red Faction: Guerrilla, so it was a joy to play through the backstory.

I played on an Ubuntu Linux desktop, with Steam's Proton compatibilty software. I used a third-party, open source modification package called Dash Faction to improve the the graphics. Please know that the campaign is unplayable without this package!

Played half-way, but couldn't take the platform jumping and bland level design. For twenty bucks, I would not recommend.

I had some trouble getting the game settings to not crash the game, until I adjusted the video to a lower resolution. The game does not support my native video resolution, and it would just crash to desktop.

Fantastic dark, gothic world-building, stardew-valley-esque gameplay, but there are flaws that make it hard to keep playing. This gameplay is has you trying to do twenty things each day, but not enough time to do them all. That's all good, because creating a graveyard, a church, and farming business is all really fun. The crafting interplay is excellent, and I enjoyed the very interesting technology progression.

There are many downsides which all require referencing the unofficial out-of-game wiki: Nearly every quest chain is hard to understand, starting right from the tutorial. The quests often depend on other, unknown quests to be resolved. And, while new technology provides new buildings, the game offers no description of their usage. Lastly, there are several gameplay components that are simply non-functional and many more that do not match their description.

And then, there is the technical micro-stuttering often mentioned in the community forums. That is going to be a problem for a lot of people, and it doesn't show up until a dozen hours of playing and keeps getting worse and worse. This is where the screen pauses for a split-second while moving, over and over, and it causes me a slight feeling of seasickness.

Lastly, the game is long. Really long. That might be a good thing or bad thing, depending on how much you want to just chill into being in this game world. But I can see from the Steam Achievements that only 29% of owners got the story-based one for the Necronomicon. That's only half-way through the game story, so those 98% of owners who got the tutorial-based achievement did not stick around even that long. That's too bad, because the end-game Alchemy Technology is excellent multi-stage crafting. I can understand how someone would bail-out of this game, after a dozen hours of annoying questlines, neglected descriptions, and increasing micro-stuttering and leave a Not Recommended review.

All that said, I am recommending this game because they nailed the theme of dark-fantasy, that I enjoy, combined with the open-direction, stardew-valley style gameplay that makes me feel I am engaged in that world. And another really, really big reason is the "recently departed" technology tree that is super interesting.

So in the end, I got to take part in this very weird world, on an Ubuntu Linux desktop computer. I used both a keyboard and mouse and then a gamepad controller. I found the mouse-clicking difficult on the menus, and the gamepad was a lot easier.

Been playing a lot of HOG genre games, but I didn't like this one. Surprisingly violent!
Played with Steam's Proton compatibility software, and had no technical issues.

Game is a lot of fun. I like it so much better than Cultist Simulator, because there is not a constant, nail-biting fear of running out of resources, every second of playing. Much more chill experience of exploring the card combos, with a surprising amount of depth. Was this game really made in two weeks, as the patreon page suggests? I am new to Sokpop games, and I am really impressed. Great value for the cost.

Played on an Ubuntu Linux desktop with mouse controls. The controls had a lot of configuration options. I had no technical issues using Steam's Proton compatibility software.
