I've played several different RE games over the years, but I've never been bothered to finish one of them. I've now finished this one three times, and I still have the side stories to do. It's safe to say I love this game. I'm sure RE2 was great back in its heyday, (I was playing Silent Hill at the time) but this is some prime real estate in the survival horror genre. Now, I'm going to play some of the other games in the series just because I want to see more story with these characters.

Bottom line: If you've never been into the Resident Evil series or survival horror in general, this is the one. It was for me, at least.

Pretty good for a game where there's not really anything to do.

This is a really nice visual novel and I don't really care for visual novels. Very pretty, relaxing music, and interesting story. There are a lot of things that can happen, so keep poking around even after you've found all the endings.

This is the best way to play FF7, imo. Do yourself a favor and download some mods, though, such as the fantastic Reunion mod, which I used for my recent playthrough. I hear Seventh Heaven is also really good.

As for my thoughts on FF7 in general, I played it years ago when it was still relatively new. However, much of its plot had been spoiled for me by friends, so I never felt like I got full experience it properly. I enjoyed it, and I considered it a great game. But there was just always something about it I never got that other people seemed to get. Something that made it truly one the greatest games of all time. In my recent playthrough, I finally got it. It's the relatability of the characters and the story. The characters spend the entire game trying to save the planet because it's the right thing to do. But there is a certain hopelessness to it. Everyone wonders if they can actually succeed. And, honestly, the game does a great job at making you think you won't succeed. It's the same thing in real life where we are always trying to do the right things but we get frustrated because everything feels hopeless sometimes. This time playing through the game, I really felt that in the characters, the story, and the setting in general. I won't be too specific in the interest of avoiding spoilers, but I definitely recommend playing this amazing game if you haven't before. And if you're like me, and you let the hype around it keep you from enjoying it for so long, then give it a second look. One of the greatest video game experiences you can have is waiting for you.

I got into Mass Effect this year. I suffered through the trials and tribulations of having Origin just to enjoy this franchise and it was totally worth it. I liked it so much I decided to buy it on Steam, too. I must say, the Steam version runs a lot smoother in my experience. Hopefully, since EA and Valve are friends again, we'll get ME3 on Steam, too. Anyway, I don't usually leave overly detailed reviews, but I will say one thing. Even if you don't like Sci-Fi, or shooter-type RPGS, give this game a go anyway. I don't normally like either of those things and I love this game. ME2 and 3 are great, too, but I still hold that ME1 is the best. Play it. You won't regret it.
