I haven't finished BoC yet, but I can say I've been quite impressed with its writing and overall narrative, something most wargames lack. And don't be mistaken, this is a wargame, and a tough one. But it's meant to be. You are meant to lose men, to make hard choice, to forget there's an enemy machine gun down the road. And you're meant to adapt to the bad circumstances. One of the best story generators of the genre. It's good!

I've played Panzer Corps 2 on and off since release, and I'm confident in saying that this is one of the best WW2 operational turn-based titles, the other being the excellent Unity of Command 2. Panzer Corps 2 offers a very solid campaign experience with mechanics that make sense and plenty of modifiers for those who want to tweak their experience or the difficulty. I also have to praise the persistent units through your campaign, as losing ace tank units really can mean a lot; experience builds slowly, and it pays to really think about your moves before you make them, lest you lose that infantry brigade that's been with you since the beginning.

tl;dr if you like the wargaming genre, there's a pretty good chance you'll like Panzer Corps 2.

I'm planning to write a full-fledged review at some point, but I want to post this here, even though I rarely review games on steam. I will be brief: Dwarf Fortress is one of the most important games of the digital era, in terms of how it innovated the strategy genre, in terms of the freedom it allows players, in terms of the depth and interaction of every system in the game. Dwarf Fortress is a game that creates unique stories for every player, and every story is fascinating to watch unfold. Dwarf Fortress is a game that I've played for over a thousand hours easily on the free version, and I plan to invest another thousand into the Steam release at least. More than any of that though, you should buy Dwarf Fortress to support the dev team, who said they only pushed for a premium release to cover healthcare costs. I'm happy to say that I bought myself and a friend a copy, both because the game is incredible, and out of a feeling of support for the dev team. They've put so much time and effort into creating the game, and there are years and years of content updates still on the way. Jump in! Experience the storycrafting machine that is Dwarf Fortress, and remember: Losing is Fun!

This game can be played in about an hour and has some of the best writing, voice acting, and overall story from any game of its type, and is better than most movies. You don't really have an excuse to not play it.

This is the best roguelite I've ever played. The combat is satisfying, the progression is challenging but not insane, the sound and music are great, and story story and characters are phenomenal. Play this game.
