Time to Mix Drinks, and Change Lives!

A little safe haven tucked away in a grunge-esque alleyway; A post-dystopian era, cyberpunk style.
Suffice to say this is a VN (visual novel) worthy of mention time, and time again. Definitely one of those things worth running through a second, or third time - much like Fight Club for instance.

VA-11 HALL-A is a wonderfully written, and executed piece of work that you'll most likely have a hard time putting down. Amongst being one of the better illustrated story driven VN's, it boasts a phenomenal soundtrack that you (i.e. the player) may set as per chapter before the days work begins [ which as implied, can change the feel to the viewers taste ]

Playing as the lovely bartender Jill, our protagonist in this game, who's catch-all is in her ( i.e. the player's) choice in drink serving - will change the direction of the dialogue/info you're given which in turn influences one's impression on current events/people at given times.
You'll be given many concepts to ponder, and maul yourself over as well like 'solipsism' (the view or theory that the self is all that can be known to exist.) Many 'what ifs' dance around the atmosphere as you become more, and more accustomed to the way of life in which the citizens of Glitch City go about their lives. And, as you move on from one day to the next - you may soon realize some individuals and things of 'happenstance' aren't who/what they appear to be.

On a personal note, I am absolutely smitten to the clouds with VA-11 HALL-A and its' cast of beloved characters.
Catching up on the in game 'mundane' every day news as Jill sits in her room whilst conversing with her cat 'Fore' even feels fun, and refreshing.
Each clientele brings such a novel experience to be savoured - and mercy, is it ever lovely when they banter between each other!

It's that kind of game to me. Many of the events, and characters actually touched base with me on a personal level. The idea of relations between individuals, emotions, and regret are ever so grounding and yet fairly charming all the same.
The atmosphere of the bar is one that I'd wish to experience firsthand myself. It's relaxing, and particular to those intimate one on one engagements that I long for. Certainly a game to end your day with for sure.
Until the time comes for when I finish my extra playthroughs to discover the whole story, I wholeheartedly feel the need to cherish the mystery and venture that is VA-11 HALL-A.
To that end, I would highly recommend to play through it!
