I thought my nostalgia from the first two games would taint my ability to review this game. I thought the fact that Larian Studios really blew me away with their Divinity series would make it a bit unfair as well. I was totally right, but it still doesn't matter. It is everything you've ever wanted in an adventure that doesn't come with a literal portal in real life.

The Multiplayer Experience - I find D&D in real life hard to engage with because I'm too interested in exploring the world on my own, potentially during important story portions of the game but can be a lot to ask for from a DM. This game's system allows for everything to happen, all at once, and makes for a top notch experience. I can run to a town and sell some heavy loot while someone else has a full blown conversation with a DEMON! Or maybe a Squirrel. Depending on how fun your friends are.

The Single Player Experience - Very true to the Baldur's Gate lineage but obviously a master class approach. There is almost too much story to go through alone but there is so much juice in the proverbial meat that you would be a fool to miss out.

I would personally love to see Larian turn this into something akin to "The Sims" and just churn out content on this game model. Any IP or story, not just Baldur's Gate. Change Crossbow to Rifle and bam, Cowboy's Gate 3. Dagger to Space Laser Dagger and blambo, Baldur's Spaceship 2 : Moon's of Amn.

Cm'ooooon! Do it!.

Played this in person first. I highly recommend supporting the physical card game.

*PC Version*
Free : Lite, story 1 chapter 1, vs bot
$5,00 : Base Game, online multiplayer, first 2 story missions.
$60.00 : Full Game

Totally worth $5.00 for the ability to Star Realm on your phone from anywhere as long as you have other people to play with. I don't know that it's always the most active. The bot on hardest difficulty with the base game doesn't fully scratch the itch when you've learned the game but I personally would spend $60.00 on the physical version if I played it that much with a dedicated group.
