Take realistic physics, gorgeous visuals, plenty of immersing sound, psychological mind games, a pinch of horror and mix that with a storyline to rival any big budget movie and there it is, something completely new.

I really like this game! It's amazing for an older title and has plenty to offer. The graphics are nice and the gameplay is smooth. That said, I'm not a fan of quick saving every five seconds because enemies have impossible accuracy and unfair knowledge of my position. For example, I'm entering a pitch black area and immediately get demolished by unseen enemies across the room. I think, "oh, maybe I need to use my flashlight instead." During the next attempt, I use my flashlight when entering the room. Before I even round the corner, I hear the entire squad yell "FLASHLIGHT! TAKE COVER!" These scenarios are EXTREMELY frustrating and make me want to quit. Luckily, the level design and story are enough motivation to finish the game. Overall, I think most people would enjoy this game outside stupid moments like that.

Edit: After completing this game, I would like to revoke everything from my previous review. This game is tedious and uneventful. The gameplay and environments are extremely repetitive. The characters are irritatingly flat without any development during the game's progression. Even the story fails to become anything more than, "girl is experimented on and gets angry about it." This game had so much potential to be amazing, but I seriously want my 8 hours back.
