There is a fix for the English text to speech voice back to the original and it's as simple as making a backup of and deleting the jpn.eaf file and renaming the eng-us.eaf file to jpn.eaf

Then go into the steam settings and turn the language from English to Japanese.

There you'll have Japanese voices from the beginning + the Japanese text to speech.

Don't let the English text to speech voices (NOT AI GENERATED VOICES. TEXT TO SPEECH.) turn you off from a game that ABSOLUTELY deserves your time.

Even though I do think the English TTS is very funny and on brand for this game.

This game is a life changing experience. I don't think I'll ever be the same person after I'm done with this series. Download the 07th mod, get all of the original art and enjoy the first step on a long journey through a simple small town.

Enjoy the festivities with your new friends and lose yourself in the town of Hinamizawa.

Fundamentally changed my life path. New translation is fantastic, new graphics are amazing. Waiting for an uncensored patch, but I'm more than happy to rec this to people who want to get into Fate or the Nasuverse.

I've completed enough content to fully have a grasp of how great this game can be. By combining two different genres together, this game has created something so unabashedly inspired that it kind of makes it completely original in a sense. As somebody who played a ♥♥♥♥ ton of Tony Hawk AND games similar to Vampire Survivors, I can say that this game oozes style in a way that comes across as completely natural. Other games might have felt more forced, but not this one. From the music and the graphics that emulate the style of the original tony hawk games, to the way the gameplay mixes with the guns and the combo system, it all genuinely feels like a game I would have dreamed of playing my entire childhood.

You got it all, bike upgrades, unlockable characters, unlockable cosmetics, it really does feel like a solid attempt at nailing what made old arcadey sports games fun. Even the combat which leaves everything soaked in blood feels nice and punchy, especially when you get the upgrades that make your reload speed basically infinite and you're blasting holes in things in endless mode at mach 15 with a double barrel shotgun attached to your handles.

I do have a few critiques though. Grind spots that take corners like some of the ropes on the pirate level and even the first level don't actually take you around the corner. You gotta jump to hit the next rail instead of seamlessly taking you around like in the games that this one took inspiration from. Sometimes the grind lock on is either very strong or very weak, causing you to either completely miss a rail that you might land on, OR snap to one that you definitely shouldn't have. Sometimes the physics freak out (which is funny tbh i love it) but it does cause you to completely lose a combo on accident. I know there is an option for auto upgrade in the menu, but if you're trying to go for a specific build, the game might interrupt you a bit _too_ much. It sometimes gets very jarring to try and go for a massive combo in career mode and then being hit with 40 upgrade windows completely pausing the game for at least a minute. I also think the map designs could be better in terms of gameplay flow and comboing, which actually could be fixed with a level editor or something. However, the designs of the maps themselves are really cool.

Those flaws are absolutely not deal breakers for me, in fact I do plan on 100 percenting the game if possible. Honestly the only thing I might add would be maybe a level editor or more maps as paid dlc. I'd easily pay money for map packs and new characters. Maybe some goofy cheatcodes too just for nostalgia's sake.

Motordoom is a game that stands on its own in a very unsaturated market for arcade like X-games based video games. It surprised me at every turn with how authentic everything felt. The passion for making this game can be seen for hours and hours. Despite how some aspects of the game feel a bit janky, I think that jank actually makes the game much more endearing and lasting than something that didn't feel like a hand crafted love letter to power violence and 1990s skateboarding games.

Most of the micro-transactions in the store can be easily gotten in game with almost no effort. It's stupid that they're in this game at all, but the game itself is good, if horribly optimized and CPU intensive. The biggest problem as it stands now is that you cannot create a new game. Whether that's a bug in this build or some asinine design decision, I have no idea. I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt and say that was not intended, but I'll update the review if it is ever fixed.

The devs weren't prepared for the influx of players and got understandably overwhelmed. The game itself is good and the wait times are over exaggerated

Early Access Review
Unironically better than any Pokemon game I've ever played. Even with the Jank, the game itself is a surprisingly fleshed out survival experience with a decent progression and mostly bug free multiplayer. It was genius selling this game at 30 dollars. It's easily worth the price. This game will only get better with more updates.

One of if not the best King's Field esque games out there right now. In terms of pure style and exploration, I've never played anything that's come close other than the originals. Excited to see if more games pop up like this
