Baldur's Gate 3 use a very archaic gameplay called DND(I mean like the whole game is based from DND). If you actually do play DND and enjoys it you definitely would be the type of people that would endlessly love this game. I personally have never played DND, and i absolutely abhor the dice mechanic. everything you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ do the dice roll depends on it its so utterly RNG i really personally feel like it would have been way better off without it. But again, that is the core mechanic of DND, so i understand why its there. Aside from all that, the game is great. The first act actually did a lot of decent setups on progressing the story with quite a great finish, but then act 2 didnt really follow up on the story all that much, and the area is also pretty dogshitty as well. act 3 is worse, seperating two part of the same area, and the city is so unnavigable and bloated with content, absurd difficulty spike, but ultimately had quite a strong finish.

Like I mentioned above, the combat is archaic. Even though they tried to make it modern by introducing interesting and pretty responsive actions, the fact that the maximum amount of action points you have is one throughout the entire game. Of course, the further you go in the game you can do so much with one action point but I still personally feel that maybe even at least 3 action points would be good. The main reason why i dislike the combat so much though is that your attacks depend on your rolls, and better armor usually leads to higher requirement of a roll to hit. So this essentially means that squishy characters that cant wear big armours will always get attacked because you need less rolls to hit them. That is such a bad system. Some enemies have very very annoying mechanics that just prolongs the fights for absolutely no reason other than forcing the playing to play in a particular manner.

The story of Baldur's Gate 3 is pretty good, all things considered. I think they all interconnected pretty well, the companions stories are awesome, and like DOS2 most of your choices can impact the whole game. The main narrative is also very good, I like the villains and allies presented in the story. Though I really wonder why they did not put the staple slideshows most RPG games do at the end of their games because i feel like BG3 would benefit from it greatly though I dont mind how the handle the post-game story stuff, its still pretty conclusive enough for me.

Exploration really really varies, though it is also a highlight of this game, especially in Act 1. Theres not really much to explore in Act 2 and there is a little bit too much to explore in Act 3. Act 3 is so bloated it makes the pacing incosistent and following through the progress of the story a little bit too confusing. Act 3 has a pretty great finale though so I think it really makes up for it.

RNG

i pretty much relay all of my opinions from risk of rain 2 to this game since its quite similar gameplay wise except that risk of rain 2 is way better in all aspects. this game is so rng heavy that if you dont get a decent item past chapter 3 youre essentially cooked for the rest of the game and i hate that ♥♥♥♥. because majority of the plays you do its not going to be a homerun getting a good weapon with a good synergy a very good passive but as usual, rng games are at their best when your luck finally struck. youd feel like its the best game youve ever played your whole life. still though, its a very charming game overall. 7/10

nothing particularly special. all decent fun gameplay not too challenging but still engaging enough to be slightly fun and enjoyable there are some annoying mechanics but its nothing too troubling.
graphics are very cute love the artstyle and aesthetic and how simple it all looks
dialogues are terrible because they always flip around from being serious to joking so the mood is never right in this game you cant take it seriously because the game doesnt take it seriously

This game is painfully short. I enjoyed the overall concept (it reminded me a lot of fallout new vegas) and gameplay overall it was a bit rng based but i dont mind it. most of the characters presented are decent (lem and mina the goat) but again the game is extremely short that we barely even got to interact with them as much. I also kinda wished we had some sort of endscreens, still cutscenes couldve also done wonders because almost all the endings in this game kinda ends super abruptly but overall its a pretty decent game.

This game blows. It is an animal crossing knockoff but somehow worse in every single aspect. All you do in this game is oh find this thing oh find that thing, fish this catch that craft this cook that its errand/chore simulator. Which is unfortunate because i love doing errands in games which is why i even bothered to stay as long as i could. But still, the fact that it took me 60 hours to finish this game is blasphemous. Why the real time...They could have also just tried to let people time travel i think that would 100% fix a lot of this games problem, i mean ♥♥♥♥ it fixes animal crossing problems.

The game has very nice visuals, gameplay is garbage, the characters are hit and miss (mostly miss) and their interactions arent really that unique from one another. Everything about the game is very underutilized and barely serves any real purpose. There are also way better games that handles death much more beautifully and engaging (like Spiritfarer). I very rarely not recommend people to play a game because it is normal for some people to like and not like anything, but this game is not good.

I personally do feel like everyone should at one point try this game once in their lives. It is a special and fully crafted game, which mind you is extremely rare these days. Theres just so much content in the base game alone it is overwhelming.

2/3 parts of the game is perfectly crafted. I feel like within those timespans, all enemies are perfectly balanced and fun to fight against with even the small enemies is fun to fight with. caves unfortunately are the worst parts of the game theyre great early on since theyre unique but as more caves go on it would just be variations or just tow of the same miniboss, its dissapointing to say the least, and hardly even worth it sometimes. still though, the surface content is fun, the main bosses are glorious, and the progression is great. i rocked myself a collosal greatsword throughout the whole gameplay, and enjoyed my time with it.

questlines are handled horribly, i think if this game included like a journal book or something that does not provide handholding but just records the conversations i think it would help tremendously. it would have been a hundred percent more tolerable. most of them dont tell you anything and they be as cryptic as possible, hey little tarnished take this sword and give it to a man good luck like what? thats just terrible quest design no matter how you put it. puzzles are also cryptic and is soemtimes almost impossible without a guide its just such a weird choice to put it in the game.

the endgame is actually unfortunately the worst parts of the game. the enemies can kill you in 3 hit, and they themselves are also spongy, and they introduce bosses into normal enemies you encounter occasionally, its just bad. its poor game design at best, at an attempt to make the game difficult. and the final boss is so boring its unbelievable. its unlucky how bad it is in the end but ultimately the game is still fantastic from the start. I personally enjoyed my time with it.

Extremely brief game.
Art is vibrant and nice to look at, soundtrack is decent, and the platforming is nothing to write home about.
But hey its a pretty cute game at the end of the day.
Kinda made me realize that maybe i dont have that severe of an anxiety.
