Great game, my favourite new release of 2024.

That being said the optimisation is trash. I have above the recommended specs and there are a lot of areas where the frame rate tanks completely and it takes a little while to go back up again and that's even with using mods to help with performance. In most areas it's fine but some random areas I can go from 120fps down to 4fps.
other than that i'm enjoying the game a lot, it's hard but feels rewarding. Hopefully they fix the performance problems soon.

Overall it's a solid entry in the STALKER franchise and was worth the wait.

It's Red Dead Redemption but on PC, nothing more, nothing less and I'm completely fine with that. I've wanted RDR on PC for years and now it's finally here.

I didn't mind the £40.00 price, as a big RDR and RDR2 fan. I was hoping that they would remaster the game with more RDR2 features however I'm not upset that they haven't. I'm just glad to be able to play it again on more modern hardware.

Overall it's great to play the OG RDR on PC with a high frame rate, it feels buttery smooth and I haven't had a single issue with frame drops or anything so it's a great port. It does feel dated compared to RDR2 however that doesn't take away any of the enjoyment for me.

Undead nightmare is also great, I'm not usually a fan of zombie stuff but I love undead nightmare. I really wish they would bring back the OG RDR online for PC as that was so fun back in the day on 360. Hopefully one day. Until then the singleplayer is good enough.

I recently played this game for the first time, I had never heard of it until I saw a video of it pop up in my YouTube recommended and thought I'd give it a try. It's a great game, I really enjoyed the combat in particular. The story is interesting and so are the characters. It's not an incredibly long game but that's not an issue because it was a blast to play through. My only complaint would be that I wish it was longer or I wish there was an expansion because I want more! Considering the game is 18 years old it holds up surprisingly well too. There are some janky elements that you get with a lot of old RPG's but that just adds to the charm of the game. Overall I highly recommend it, very fun game!

Performance is garbage and there's barely any active servers. The novelty of the body-cam concept also wore off within the first 10 minuets, it just becomes a motion sickness simulator. Also, people in the trailers are saying its the most realistic looking game and yeah maybe.. if it was a 2018 game. There are games I've played from 2018 with more realistic looking graphics.

I played the game for around 30 mins and didn't enjoy it. The first lobby I got into had hackers in it which put me off straight away but then I looked around everywhere else and didn't find anything that interested me. The trailer makes the game look better than it actually is and on that basis I do not recommend it.

A fun pirate themed game.

This game is a very chill experience. It doesn't require much thought, you get in a ship, explore islands and complete quests and that's basically all there is to it.
The combat is basic but good, the exploration is fun and the crafting system is good.

I am however at a point where i'm starting to find a lot of the same caves/locations copy-pasted which has made me lose interest a little in continuing.
The survival aspect of the game is literally just hunger and honestly the game would be better without it. There's no requirement to sleep or drink or repair items it's literally just hunger and the hunger system I find more annoying than anything, I'ts kinda pointless. I feel like it's there for the sake of calling the game a "Survival" game. when it really isn't. I wouldn't recommend getting the game if you're looking for more hardcore focused survival game-play because you won't find it here.

I also really wish that there was ship to ship combat, I feel like that would make the game 10x more fun and re-playable. I don't think you can call a game a pirate game without some sort of ship to ship combat system. It's pirate themed for sure but it's not a true pirate gaming experience. The quests in the game are 99% fetch quests as well which has also gotten a little monotonous at this point and that includes all the guild quests. There is some fun dialogue but that doesn't really make up for the fact that every quest is basically *Go here, get item, return* or *Hunt 10 Boars* or *Craft 5 wooden planks* etc.

Overall I'd say the game is around probably a 6-7/10 in it's current state and I'd push it up to an 8 or 9 if they add ship to ship combat and possibly even a 10 if they also added a lot more quest variety. It's been a good game to play whilst switching my brain off and listening to podcasts, It's really easy to play and learn and it is for the most part fun. Having played around 40 hours now though I feel like I've seen pretty much everything there is to see right now so I am pretty much done with the game but for the price I paid, I feel it was worth it for a casual exploration experience. I'll come back to the game if they add more content to it as It is fun to play.

My favourite game and the best RPG I've ever played (And I've played a lot of RPG's)

Interesting immersive story, a fun learning curve which feels rewarding the more you play, amazing graphics, great quests and many more! There's nothing I dislike about this game. It's a 10/10 for me.

I do not understand the complaints about the combat, it's meant to be hard at first for a reason. You're not a mary-sue saviour of the universe, you're the son of a blacksmith that never picked up a sword before. The more you train, fight etc throughout the game, the better you'll become at the combat. Don't go into the game thinking that combat will be a breeze because it ain't and if you want an easy game that could be played by a toddler then you should look elsewhere.
If you put the time and effort in the combat is incredibly fun and realistic and you can have some truly epic duels.

The save system can be frustrating sure but you can download a mod that lets you save at any point which literally takes like 2 minutes to install and solves that issue. I would also suggest a carry-weight mod because of the amount of loot there is to collect you'll defiantly need it.

I also really love how open the game is, every interior is open so you can go inside anywhere without sitting through a loading screen. It makes the world feel even more alive and immersive. I can never go back to a game like Skyrim again now because KCD without a doubt beats it in terms of being extremely immersive. It also makes stealth a lot more fun too, running from house to house in the pitch black looting and pillaging is so fun! I love how few loading screens this game has too, it really makes it a lot more fun. The map is also beautiful, like a work of art, the best in game map I've ever seen. Fast travel is also the best of any game imo because of the random encounters that can happen along the way to spice it up. Though if you can I'd say don't use fast travel and learn the map as best you can so that you can play Hardcore mode and have an easier time because Hardcore mode is even more immersive and fun.

This is one of the few games where having a voiced protagonist works extremely well, the dialogue is great and the voice acting is really great too. Henry is a very interesting character and it's very fun to play as him. There are a lot of great voice actors! Something else I like is how this is truly a realistic medieval RPG in that it doesn't have any magic, it stays true to the expectations of the time period with the weapon and armour varieties etc. The game can be a little Janky at times but honestly I think that makes it more fun, It wouldn't be the same without it.

Overall I love this game, and I'm incredibly hyped for KCD2 more so than I have been for any game since RDR2.
I will say again though, don't come into KCD thinking that you're gonna have an easy ride because you won't. You gotta put in the effort to train in combat and level up your skills before even considering taking on multiple opponents at once.
If you want a realistic medieval RPG which is extremely immersive and has beautiful graphics then you should definitely buy KCD. I'ts fully worth the full asking price. I've sunk hundreds of hours into this game and will be sinking in hundreds more!

Now stop reading this review, buy the game and support Warhorse studios! You'll have a blast.

The only reason to buy this is for the multiplayer but said multiplayer is completely broken and already dead. The singleplayer is also broken, a lot of the cutscenes don't work and some of the 501st journal entries are missing. The game crashes if you try and use the search function every single time without fail (not that you need to anyway since the multiplayer is already dead.)

I really wanted to defend this release as I am a huge Star Wars fan and absolutely love the OG Battlefronts but I just can't. They screwed up in every way possible and I will absolutely not trust another Aspyr Star Wars release ever again.

Don't buy this, buy the originals and mod them. You'll have a much better experience.

My review of Starfield after 66 hours of playtime:

Firstly I would suggest putting all of your expectations aside for what you want Starfield to be because you'll only disappoint yourself. If you're expecting No Man's Sky style space exploration and combat well you'll be disappointed because that's not what Starfield is about. I think some people expected to have the exact same experience in Starfield (an RPG which includes space) as they did in No Man's Sky (a space sandbox/sim) which will probably make up a bulk of negative reviews for the game.

Starfield is an RPG and an incredibly great one too. You can easily spend hours getting lost in the cities exploring everything they have to offer because in Starfield the city of New Atlantis alone is larger than all of Skyrim's and Oblivion's cities combined. When I first made it to New Atlantis I spent 5 hours walking around the city and I still haven't seen everything. There is a TON to see and a ton to do as well.

One of the best parts about Starfield is the amount of engaging side quests that there are everywhere. There are tons of them and some of them will lead you on tangents lasting hours. Sometimes you'll walk passed two NPC's having a conversation and suddenly have a new quest to investigate the nature of what they were talking about. Sometimes these quests are simple 5 minuet fetch quests and sometimes they can go on for hours with interesting twists leading you to awesome new locations that you would not have discovered otherwise.

The NPC's in Starfield are interesting and engaging and absolutely help in making you feel more immersed in the world around you. Even NPC's that are not named sometimes have stories to tell, you just never know unless you speak to them.
The AI is I would say just fine. It's not bad but it's not the best I've ever seen either, sometimes enemies will turn and face away from you during combat and they will also shoot at walls and glass that you are standing behind. Overall though I did not find this to be enough of a problem to actually have a complaint about it.

Space in this game isn't somewhere you'll be spending a ton of time. It mostly acts as a hub for fast travelling everywhere that you want to go to. That being said there are some AMAZING space battles in this game as part of faction quests. For the most part you sometimes run into enemies and friendly ships when entering a new system but not that often tbh. At first the lack of of time spent in space disappointed me but that's only because my expectations were too high and like a lot of people I thought it would just be the same as NMS. Once you set your expectations aside and take space in this game at face value though, it's not bad at all. This game doesn't need NMS style space to be awesome imo.

The ship building is very clunky and took me a while to figure out but now I find it to be very fun. You won't be doing it a ton though as building a ship is very expensive. The UI could use some work for sure because you're basically fed tons and tons of info all at once which can be overwhelming when you're just starting out and trying to figure out how to build a ship for the first time. As for outpost building I haven't really done much of it just because it isn't something that really interests me all that much but it does seem fun building your own base and being able to mine for minerals to then sell on.
I will probably look into it at a later date though.

The main story starts slow imo and didn't really grab me at first but the more story missions you do the more interesting it becomes and you'll find yourself having many extensional crisis' along the way. It's very easy to actually forget that there is a main story because there are so many other quests in this game and there is so much to see and explore that you'll set your mind to something only to completely forget and then remember hours later.

Planets are basically just maps, you can choose exactly where you want to land on a planet and it'll play a cut scene and generate a map with different locations based on what kind of planet you are on. There are boundaries on how far you can go but I don't have a problem with this at all personally as you never actually spend enough time in one location to actually hit any of the boundaries. I've never once come across them even after spending several hours at one location on a random planet. For some people it'll be a disappointment and at first I wasn't a fan but now I really do not see any issue with how it all works at all.

I would say the only part about this game which sucks is the performance. The optimisation is not good at all and even on higher end systems you will struggle to hit a consistent 60fps without resorting to the lowest settings. Basically if you want to be able to run the game at 60 consistently you need a very high end system and a powerful CPU as the game is very CPU heavy.

Overall after 66 hours I'd give Starfield a solid 9/10. I love this game a lot despite the performance problems and it's one of the few new AAA releases that is actually worth full price. If you love Fallout, Oblivion, Skyrim etc then you'll love this game.

(I may edit this review at a later date after playing more of the game)
