I play various kinds of games, I prefer strategy and puzzle games with unique concepts, but I'll play many games if I have time or they come recommended.
Currently I do not have much time, but any recommendations will be considered and placed on my List.
(Also, if you see anyone on a different platform with this notakeyboardsmash username, it's probably me.)

A thousand hours in and I've yet to write a review? No longer.

Deep Rock Galactic is my personal GOAT because of its gameplay loop, community, and character.

You start off alone, deep in an underground cave, following orders from Mission Control to get your bearings and learn the basics of mining and combat. After your extraction, you're free to explore the space rig that acts as your hub between missions, where you can upgrade and modify your gear, select your next mission, R&R at the bar, or (most importantly) customize your cosmetics.
As you dive into more missions, the grunts that first overwhelmed you begin to feel more manageable, the caves a little easier to navigate, and the dwarves ever more endearing (Always press V. Always.). But every once in a while, something happens to throw you off a bit, be it an ammo shortage, a spaghetti cave straight from Italian hell, or two-dozen-too-many enemies of a particular type, be it spitters, wardens, or brood nexuses. Along the way, you'll also continue to unlock new weapons and overclocks, which shake up gameplay enough to keep things interesting while you find a playstyle that suits you.
Of course, Management isn't cruel (or at least stupid) enough to force you into the depths of Hoxxes IV on your own; Solo or not, there's always someone to pick you up after you find yourself in the wrong place at the wrong time. And if they go down too? Well, just sleep it off, you'll wake up back in the med-bay and be ready to hop back into a new mission in no time.
This game has fostered a thriving, positive community that supports both newcomers and older players alike, and it's a joy to be a part of, as the updates take it through new twists and turns.

TLDR: Everything you could ask for from a game like this, with more to look forward to on the horizon!

Hope to see you in the mines, greenbeards!
Rock and Stone!

P.S: After another thousand hours, my opinion still hasn't changed. For better or for worse, the caves are fuller than ever of various events, always giving you more to come back to. While the grind might be getting old at this point, it's been a great game and worthy of every hour I've put into it.
