this is genuinely one of the most baffling pieces of media i have ever consumed.

clunky port of a mobile game thats being sold for way too much. the artistry is the only thing it has going for itself, otherwise really slow, boring, and tedious

downgrade from the original. no feedback when getting hit or when hitting enemies, and just generally really lazy. but hey, its free at least.

doesnt do much in the way of bringing the game up to modern standards - ei checkpoints, wider angles for view-locking, infinite ammo for the pistol for the common cases where you run out of all ammo, and just generally more fair difficulty balance - but still controls and plays perfectly fine. They also the original game was flawed on release and its only gotten worse with age. Fresh audiences wont be having much fun with it compared to other boomer shooters, but still a fun nostalgia trip if you're already familiar with what to expect.

random bonus complaints: no local multiplayer, music is horrible, weapon swap speed is insanely slow, alt-tabbing forces you out of fullscreen, the rewind on death thing is lazy and doesnt fit the pace of the game at all

some fun ideas but ultimately held back by the jank controls and needlessly restrictive (and ALSO jank) undo system.
