game is very CPU heavy. If you meet or exceed recommended, you should be more than fine. If youre even a bit short? This port doesn't work. It was bad enough I waited till the recent sale on PS5 just to stick with that.

Jesus ♥♥♥♥ does it feel good to play a game that feels like it came straight from the 360/PS3 days. For the price of this, you get a solid 6-8 hour campaign, with 5 (maybe 6?) difficulty levels. When that's completed, you can play the Operations campaign. These missions take place during the main story while another squad of Space Marines is off doing ♥♥♥♥. It runs parallel to the entire main campaign and gives you another 5-8 hours depending on difficulty and if youre playing to grind the customisation of your Marine or just to complete. If you're going for all base cosmetics, you can play this for a long time.

FInally you have an admittedly barebones PVP but it feels so fun.

So initially, that content may not seem all that impressive. Sure decent playtime but what if you aren't interested in PVP, or the Operations mode?

Well that's where this game shines. Sabre Interactive has laid out their roadmap, and so the only paid dlc will be Cosmetic options and the like. If you buy the base game, you will get all future PVP maps, Operations Missions, AND the incoming Hoard mode for free.

If you're like me and your fondest memories are with the 6th and 7th gen games, I beg ya to try this out. The original game is available on a variety of outlets as well, so if youre a bit hesitant you can always try that one out first and see if you want to see what they could do 10 years later.

Buy this game, support non-greedy design.

So, I only grew up playing Portrait of Ruin, so its been neat to catch up on the other two. The collection is a bit bare bones in terms of visual options due to these being games for DS, but the way theyve worked out how to manage the touch screen is really nice. Order of Ecclesia makes the most use of it across all three games, but not to a bad degree.

Game works well with Nintendo Switch Pro controller, it will be the best way to resemble the original controls. Though lately I had random disconnects, its the first time its happened though so likely on my end.

In all, this is a solid 45+ hours of content, as these games have second campaigns and in the case of Portrait of Ruin a ton of playthrough options (you can even play the entire campaign as a specific common enemy)

Decided to write a review in light of recent news: TL;DR Sony just walked back the dumbass decision to require linking a PSN account to the game. This is no longer on the table as far as we know, the game is as functional as it has been in the previous weeks/months, the previously prospectively affected countries are now all good. So the following review is based entirely on actual gameplay and user experience, not recent politics. Gamers won, we're gonna just talk about the game now. Review subject to change if Sony decides to engage in ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ again.

Helldivers 2 is the best Starship Troopers adaptation since the original film. It perfectly captures the satire of Robert Heinleins's original work, but places its own spin on it for the modern era. As much as I typically detest live service games, HD2 makes it work by:

1) Fostering the community and full sense of inclusiveness (outside those random weirdos who think this is a competitive game worthy of a meta that demands kicking players that don't adhere to said meta)

2) Respecting your time AND the fact you already paid to play the game. Warbonds (effectively seasons of armor/weapon unlocks) are always free to engage with, and don't require in any capacity paying actual money to unlock. Nor do the require you to make playing the game a second job to engage with that content. You can just... be a human being and play the game when you want, as long as you want, and youll eventually be able to buy all the crap you want.

I will always recommend loading in with friends, it's always the best experience for games like this. But in my limited experience with randoms, I had a great time. Even if we weren't doing great, we were laughing all the way. And sometimes after work or class, that's all you want. To just laugh and have a good time. Helldivers 2 accomplishes that, and it does so with aplomb.

While possibly the weakest story of the Arkham trilogy, the gameplay and visuals are top tier. The performance was fixed a while back so it runs excellent now in max settings in ultrawide.

Takes DOOM 2016 and turns it up so loud the speakers blow out and reverberate in the tectonic plates of the continent.

This game takes everything from the first entry, and improves on it. Movement? You now have air dashes, a tether, and verticality.

Weapons? Significantly expanded selection, with fitting modifications for each that effectively triple the function of each.

Replay-ability? Game is legitimately built for that.

If you loved or even LIKED DOOM 2016, you need to buy this. I'm mad I waited till the holidays.

Pretty much a pinnacle of early FPS design. Maps are fittingly maze like, weapons feel amazing, and the sprite work is top of the class. If you are looking for a DN3D era shooter, but with a different flavor, you can't do better.

Hands down the best fighting game on PC. Rollback netcode is what gets all the press, and rightfully so. Dozens of hours at this point and true lag is so rare that I struggle to recall any real instances.

But that's what's always talked about, what isn't is just how well optimized this game is for windows. A lot of console games, fighting games especially, are notorious for exceptionally poor ports. KI feels like it was almost designed with Windows in mind, and the game runs incredibly smooth at 60 FPS and above.

An easy-to-learn yet difficult-to-master combo system lets anyone start doing cool stuff in matches, but this is not a fighter you can fake being good at. If you value time in the lab, KI has plenty of stuff to keep you occupied.

As an Irregular fan of Character Action games, I have to say that at this point, my top 3 are a very easy:

1:) Bayonetta 2 and Devil May Cry 5

2:) Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance

3:) Vanquish

Devil May Cry 5 breaks every rule that Capcom set for the past decade, for the better. This is, without question, their best work. This game radiates passion and polish. You can't exceed a game that was loved more by its creators than its fans. Devil May Cry 5 is a celebration of the series, the company, and the fandom. If you rode with Dante in 2001, you owe it to yourself to complete this journey.
