Early Access Review
It's alright, but I can't recommend it. After a short time every enemy is a sponge and it's just dodging forever. The upgrades are laughably linear. It's not fun. I almost fell asleep playing it.

It's alright. I was obviously hoping for more. There's a staggering lack of variety in matches considering the randomization of the spawn points, base location, corruption, and challenges every game. Takes a minute to figure out a path and then watch for fliers.

No endless mode. No playground mode. Hardly any info about what things like shiny do. You eventually unlock everything and then you can use your skulls to unlock some skins and per-run buffs. It's painfully unforgiving if you select the wrong towers to upgrade first.

There are a lot of traps and they look different, but they aren't really. But that means some of them are going to be the clear best, so you only need to play those. Some of the characters suck, some are super good. No reason to play the sucky ones. You can just upgrade one set and reuse the same traps every time you play. There are a few unlocks that require a damage type, but then you're good to go back to playing the same old game.

Multiplayer is a tiny bit different. Instead of taking your normal loadout you just make sure that between everyone you have at least 1 barricade, wall, floor, ceiling, slow, trash mob, and boss traps.

But there aren't any cash generators nor are there end game towers and the only buffing tower is a barricade that only buffs its direct neighbors. I haven't come across any networking towers that in other games typically cost a lot, but scale exponentially as you add more.

All in all, it's worth playing if you have some friends to play with. But it's not going to last long.

Balance is way off. Not worth paying in this state.

Runs drop resources that are used to unlock weapons and gifts. But if you unlock the bad ones you are less likely to get good ones. And the bad ones are really bad.

Especially bad are the bad weapons. This is a high mobility game, but they stuff in there some weapons that lock you in place for their animations. Why? Why would you do that?

They added a bs hack of duplicating saves so you can unlock and try things, but it's absolutely wrong. If you accidentally unlock something that's it, your save is garbage.

I'm so glad they had a free weekend, because I found out I don't like this game. I also learned that if I ever have to do a free weekend, I should allow people to download my 70 GIGABYTE game BEFORE the free weekend. I might be crazy, but I'd give people a whole week.

To start, you don't just pick up this game and play. You need to know the maps and the weapons and the operators, and there are a lot of them. Breaching is super cool if you know the maps. Gameplay is slow and stealthy where experience with the game is probably the biggest advantage. That's cool, right? Well, yeah, for the future. How does it work for beginners? It's like pooping a pineapple.

Unfortunately, I don't really want to spend 100 hours getting into this, because of the community. Maybe I am just looking for a faster game. You'll find the players who know the game well know where they can put a hole in a wall and snipe or get into a vent shaft where they have a tiny angle on you. In a lot of that it's very realistic, but does it make the game fun to play casually? Not at all.

The community has some reasonable people, but there's always at least one toxic player. Friendly fire seems to always be on, which really goes over well with them.

In short: realistic game, fun mechanics, stealth and experience win, needs low level servers, maybe it needs to make map knowledge count for a little less.
