If you are a fan of Gacha games and the Atelier series, then this is a great game. With that being said, I would not recommend this game to players who are new to the series or do not like Gacha games.

If you are new to the series then go play either Atelier Sophie 1, Atelier Sophie 2, or Atelier Ryza 1 instead.

There's a lot to like about this game. It's a very pretty game, it has really nice animations and good post-processing effects like bloom and DOF. There's lots of characters to like, especially if you've been a long time fan of the series. And the main character - Resna - is such an avid alchemy fan that I think she's definitely played through all the previous Atelier games. Another thing to like is the support this game gets with its updates. Lots of QoL improvements and gameplay improvements are already on the JP servers and it's only a matter of time until they arrive on EN. Things like a Reserved Energy system and timeline panels being static rather than RNG.

There are things to dislike about this game. Navigating menus can be a bit clunky at times. The combat mechanics can be a bit bland, and the targeting system could also use some work. The pacing of the story can also be a bit boring sometimes, but that's kinda par for the course in the Atelier series.

From a F2P gacha player's perspective, this game is pretty good. It comes with all the caveats of playing a normal gacha game - like having to do daily quests for most of your income. But the game feels generous enough for me. Rates are on the higher end of the Gacha spectrum. Daily free pulls is a good feature. The game even gives you a free 10-pull on every new banner. Their lack of a pity system is remedied buy a really lenient spark system. And at the time of writing, they were giving away free 100 pulls, and all you had to do was log in to the game.

Overall, it's a decent game. I just wish it wasn't considered a "Main Series" atelier game. Don't take this game too seriously you'll have fun with it.
