After over 450 hours of playing this game I believe i can safely assume that Ubisoft cares little for it but, luckily for us players, Massive has kept the game up to date and full of fun and interesting content, both lore and mechanic-wise.

Note: This is an endgame setting review, both after the events of the main game, WoNY DLC and after achieving SHD level 1000.

This game has some high highs and some relatively low lows. So let's start with the highs:
Build configuration and, well, building, is one of the coolest parts of this game. The communities on youtube, reddit, discord and steam are always active with the addition of new and fun builds to play around with. You can roll the meta with a St.Elmos or an Ouroboros main, with a side of 4/6 Striker's armor, or you can search for a silly skill build or a pompous pistol and shield one. Either way you roll you'll get plenty of chances to find a build that suits your gameplay style, as well as your humour needs.

Playing this game with friends is not mandatory, but I believe everyone should try at least once. In case none of your friends play the game, never forget that the community is always there for you: you could always invite a group of randoms into whatever activity you are tackling at the moment.

And this takes me exactly to one of the things I dislike the most about the game: See through the years, the devs kept sending us great content, most of it multiplayer, like countdown, the new incursion and, my least favourite, the Raids. See the problem with the Raids isn't exactly the Raids themselves, it's what you have to do in order to unlock the content behind them. You can matchmake the Raids in Discovery difficulty, adding up to 7 other players to rip and tear trough the enemies. It is pure fun, and there are always a few veteran players who lead the pack and share loot they find unnecessary. But why do I dislike it so much? Because of how you unlock the content: you must playing in Normal difficulty and perform a set of tasks in order to unlock Raid-related weapons, such as the Regulus revolver. Why is this so bad? Because in Normal difficulty you can't matchmake with other players, as in you must invite friends in order to play said Raid. Unlike Discovery, you can't send a request into the "community pool". This can be very frustrating as it is a piece of content that requires 4-8 people due to the sheer health stats of the enemies.

Besides the Raids, the Proficiency mechanic is a both a great way to upgrade your weapons, gear and skills but the way it works is slightly anoying. You can gain Proficiency XP by using each weapon, armor piece or armor set, skill and specialisation weapon. So if you want to become proficient in say the St. Elmo's Engine, you must use that weapon often, or at least have it in your current loadout. Doing so will add XP to the Proficiency bar, until you become proficient at Proficiency level 10, for that weapon. There is, however another way, which can be both a bit grindy and somewhat anoying to be honest. You can use the materials you find throughout the open world in order to add to the Proficiency XP of any piece of gear. You can choose which is the specific material you want to use, considering that some materials are rarer and will provide more Prof. XP per unit, and others are less rare and will burn through faster. Some of these materials are also used in crafting and can be obtained by deconstructing any unwanted gear or weapons.

In conclusion, this is a great game, one of my favourite RPG's, with great build making mechanics and nuances. It's honestly funnier to play with friends but can also be enjoyed solo. I'd give a 7.7/10, it's highly replayable and constantly gettin updated, which keeps the community not only happy but also wondering what new things Massive will keep adding to this great game.
