Skyrim has proven to be a lot of fun so far; in my first save, I mostly focused on the main storyline, but after that, I've spent every subsequent save file screwing around and finding out. There are a lot of non-radiant sidequests to do, and I've yet to find them all after nearly 200 hours of gameplay at the time of writing this. I do wish there was more variety in terms of the creatures you can find in the dungeons, aside from all the draugr, but at this point I've been amusing myself running around and sneak shooting NPCs.

I first played Wizard101 as kid, and my original KingIsle account dates all the way back to the 2009. As a kid, I used to play Wizard101 a lot, although I didn't get very far since there was -- and still is -- a limited part of the very first world that's already unlocked for free players.

Without having a paid membership or crowns (the premium in-game currency) to unlock the locked areas, you can't do much in the game story-wise beyond the tutorial and the Unicorn Way questline. Once you get to the Olde Town quests where you have to help fight off the mobs in Cyclops Lane, Firecat Alley, and Triton Avenue, you have to either have unlock those three areas with crowns (which you need to buy with real money) or have a paid membership.

That being said, the game is fun for people who are willing to shell out some money to enjoy the full game. The entire game has voice-acting for the majority of the characters, which adds to its charm. Admittedly, I do view the game with a nostalgia lens since I originally played the game as a kid. I can't really speak to how much the game has changed over the years, since I only recently got back into playing it a few years ago, and even then, I haven't played it constantly. As a casual player of Wizard101, I've definitely found enjoyment in playing it as someone coming back to a nostalgic childhood game.

Whether or not the paid membership is worth it really depends on how often you -- or your kids, or whoever else plays it -- will play the game. If the account you play on will get a lot of use, then yeah, go for it! But in my opinion, buying crowns is the better option either way, since unlocking a world's area will permanently unlock that area for every single character on the account.

I've played the game before on a different profile and it's been a couple of years since I last played it (back in 2021, I think?), and coming back to it now, it's still just as fun for me! It's very unserious and is sort of a "Dead Dove: Do Not Eat" game in the sense that there are things like gun violence in-game that are part of the comedy. However, the game is very much a comedy so you're not meant to take those bits as a serious take on those issues. The Monster Prom franchise in general is campy and silly, so it's a lot of fun if you enjoy games that don't take themselves too seriously.

Littlewood is a super casual game; there is quite a bit of grinding when it comes to leveling up skills, which can get repetitive, but with a game as simple as this one, some repetitiveness is to be expected. The game isn't really story-heavy, as in you won't be forced to progress a storyline to unlock more areas/skills/etc., but there is a mechanic where you have to donate materials in order to upgrade certain spots -- for example, you have to upgrade the air balloon landing pad to be able to travel to more areas outside of your town, and you have to upgrade the stores to get access to a wider variety of items to buy, and so on and so forth.

Since there's not much of a storyline, Littlewood is a fairly open-ended game. Personally, I don't mind the casual, open-ended style of the game, but I do wish that there was more substance to the bits of lore that we're given. For example, one of the NPCs says that there's a whole world below the one that the characters lives in, where dark beings supposedly live, but we don't get to explore that world at all or even discover much about it. As it is, the game is a fun game to pass the time, but personally I'd want to see more of an adventuring aspect to it, as well as more fleshed-out lore that we get to see outside of what the NPCs tell us.

Originally, I played Beginnings & Always on itch.io and later on GOG Games, but eventually I migrated over to Steam for the achievements, so my Steam playtime isn't reflective of my full playtime. I've played and replayed the game for years -- I think since it came out, if I'm remembering right -- and I still haven't gotten bored of it. There's so many choices to make that there's a countless number of ways for the story to go, especially with how comprehensive the customization is for both Cove and the main character.

Even just the base game has a lot to play through, so there's definitely no pressure to get the DLC to get the full experience. The DLC are definitely worth the price, though! Baxter's DLC is my personal favorite since it adds so much to his character beyond what we get to see in the base game, and it adds just enough tension and drama that I keep replaying the game just for his DLC, lmao.

I've been playing the Artix Entertainment games since 2009, so as a longtime fan of the AE games, I was pretty excited to hear about AQ3D all the way back in the mid-2010s. I mostly played the open beta on mobile, so my hours on Steam don't reflect my full playtime. TBH, a lot of my enjoyment of the game comes from nostalgia since I've played AE games for like 16 years at the time of writing this.

Part of the appeal for me when it comes to the AE games in general is that there's new content on a pretty regular basis, so you'll basically never run out of things to do in the game. There's tons of sidequests and side storylines, so if you're the kind of person who likes to 100% complete games, then you'll be kept pretty busy with all the extra quests, too.

If you're a serious hardcore gamer, then AQ3D might not be for you since it doesn't take itself too seriously and is generally very "self-aware" in its humor - the writing is made to be silly and fun, which might not appeal to people who prefer their games to be more on the serious side, but personally I think there's something for everyone in the game to enjoy.

I loved the Papa Louie games as a kid and I remember playing Papa's Freezeria all the way back in middle school when it was one of the only Papa Louie games on Coolmath! Freezeria and Cupcakeria were my favorites, but I was always limited to playing the Papa Louie games on school computers, so I have a lot of fond memories of playing them on Coolmath during class. I was never able to get any of the games on mobile, but I was super excited to see that the Papa Louie games were being added to Steam! I love that the Deluxe version of Freezeria added in a lot of the features from the newer games like hoildays, minigames, and customizing your own worker, instead of just being the plain original. It definitely adds a lot more fun to the game, at least for me now as an adult!

I originally played this game on itch.io a couple of years back and I was pleasantly surprised to find it here on Steam. Grimm's Hollow is a game that deals with death and grief without being too heavy-handed; I really love how it deals with the theme of life after death and how the fear of the unknown often ties into the fear of passing on into the afterlife - Lavender's youth really emphasizes that, I think, especially because there are so many things kids don't think about because it's something for adults to worry about. The game is relatively short and sweet, which I felt worked for its theme/message, but if the developer ever wanted to make an expanded version of the game, I'd run so fast to get it XD.

Rocwood Academy is charming for what it is, but I wish it had more content than the first chapter. The game mechanics are pretty simple and so is the basic storyline, but that's probably to be expected for the price point. The main thing is that the game only has one chapter, which encompasses one school year in the game, and no other chapters have been released at the time of writing this review (February 2025), 6 years after the game's original release. Like some of the other reviews have said, there's not a whole lot to the story because of the fact that it's only chapter 1, and that chapter is mostly setting up the groundwork for the main storyline so it doesn't really get exciting until close to the end. All in all, the game isn't bad for the little content it has, but the biggest complaint is the lack of content and the fact that the game hasn't been given more content since its release. If you're looking for a game that has a deeper story/gameplay, then this isn't for you, but in my opinion, it's good enough to pass some time.

I loved the storyline of this game, but I do wish that it gave you actual choices to make and wasn't just something you read through. Like for example, having the choice to have Magda actually act on the intrusive thoughts Nils is sending her, or having choices of what path Magda should take to get back to the building where Nils is being kept, and there being higher chances of getting caught depending on the path you choose. But other than that, it was a fun read-through and I feel like making it more interactive with actual choices would really make it a more immersive experience. Especially since such a huge part of the game is Magda trying to be on her best behavior so she doesn't get in trouble, so it would have been really cool to see how player choices affect Magda's already poor reputation in the Haven.
