Very good game however the Goku Black story should have started with Zamasu in Universe 10 instead of in the middle of the Future Trunks arc and also allowed you to kill Goku followed by Chi-Chi and Goten after obtaining Goku's body from the Super Dragon Balls but Bandai Namco are cowards.

Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX is a fairly satisfying spinoff in the Azure Striker Gunvolt series, focusing on the anti-hero Copen giving him an entire game based off his skills from Azure Striker Gunvolt 2. It is a bit shorter than other titles in the Gunvolt series, but this is more or less due to having a somewhat less in-depth plot. If you enjoy the Azure Striker Gunvolt series and more specifically Copen's gameplay style in Azure Striker Gunvolt 2, this game is pretty easy to recommend.

Do you like video games and do you like fun?

If the answer to both questions is "yes" then I have good news for you! Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom is both a video game and it is indeed very fun.

I wouldn't have recommended this prior to this current patch, but it seems like Square Enix is actually on the right track with this port of Chrono Trigger. So if you enjoyed the SNES or DS versions of the game and wouldn't mind having a copy on PC I'd recommend picking this up, and if you haven't played through Chrono Trigger yet it's a very fun experience and still one of the best RPGs to come from Square. Let's just hope the next patch doesn't make me take back everything I said here by making an even worse UI. :V

Also, at the moment it's still probably best to play this with a controller as keyboard and mouse is still kinda iffy at the moment. But as that's something Square mentioned they were gonna fix along with the UI, hopefully that goes well, again we'll see.

I would like to point out if there was a neutral option, I would have just opted with that, but since there isn't I can't particuarly recommend this game either.

"Sonic Forces exists" is a general summary of how I feel about this game. I neither find it amazing, nor offensive, it just exists. Don't get me wrong there are segments of the game I found enjoyable and other bits frustrating but overall it's a mostly average game. Sonic Team definitely tried to harken back to the Adventure era in overall tone for the game as it's overall grittier, granted it doesn't get as gritty as say Shadow the Hedgehog, it gets close though. Also, I can't help but feel that Shadow would have been a more fitting lead for this title.

STORY
Like I said, the story is a lot grittier than recent entries getting close to Shadow the Hedgehog, which is a shame it doesn't because I find the grittiness in Shadow the Hedgehog downright hilarious at times with moments like Shadow straight up killing Dr. Eggman or Sonic on certain endings, alas this isn't Shadow the Hedgehog though. Dr. Eggman takes over the world with his new creation dubbed "Infinite", who is a jackal whom Shadow called weak and he got so triggered by it he subjected himself to Dr. Eggman, allowing him to be used as the test subject for the Phantom Ruby (introduced in Sonic Mania). Fused with the Phantom Ruby, Infinite has the ability to create realistic illusions of previous enemies amongst other things. Anyway this caused trouble for ol' Sonic and the gang which leads to Dr. Eggman sucessfully taking over the world. Seemingly inspired by the Archie and SatAM on this front, a resistance is formed to combat Dr. Eggman and reclaim their world. This sounds like overall it should work, but due to how the game is structured it ends up being fairly disjointed in execution leading to a messy a story, which you can't even laugh at for being hilarious bad like some previous entries. Also, I imagine people who actually liked Infinite's concept are probably upset that he just kinda dies towards the end... I mean unless they make post-epilogue DLC that reveals he's still alive or something I doubt it though.

GAMEPLAY
Overall it plays like a more awkward version of Sonic Generations, Modern Sonic controls probably the best he has in this set up due to being built off Sonic Lost World, however he lacks drifting which I hurts the design of one level in particular, if he only he could drift though. The Avatar plays like a worse version of Modern as it's slowed down and relies on the use of Wispons which if you're going for completion probably means replaying levels multiple times for completionists. Team is a mix of Modern and Avatar which uh... it works I guess. Classic Sonic is the worst offender though, while not controlling as bad as Sonic 4 Ep 1, he controls considerably worse than he did in Generations (there's apparently a mod though fixes this issues, so you might want to use that while playing.)

Due to being modified from Lost World rather than Generations (I really have no idea why Sega did this), the levels are noticably considerably shorter than previous entries. This wouldn't be so bad I don't think if it had a proper act structure for the games zones and was designed around it but it ultimately comes off as extremely disjointed due to this... which hurts several stages especially ones that overall aren't bad but end up ending just right when it's getting really good (this especially happens with Modern Sonic). Also, I would like to point out Metropolitan Highway and Imperial Tower are the worst stages in this game and I hate them.

MUSIC
The music in Forces soundtrack is all over the damn place, there are some tracks that are pretty good (none are particularly amazing though) and then there are tracks that are downright earbleeding terrible (most of the Avatar stages). Infinite's main theme though (which is only used in a cutscene) is hilariously edgy though, and the main theme Fist Bump, much like this game kinda exists. The best the music gets is probably the orchestral pieces during the menus and cutscenes followed up by most of Modern Sonic's and the Tag stages. Classic Sonic's are very uninspired Genesis-esque tracks which is really bizzare considering Naofumi Hayata composed a few of these tracks too.

GRAPHICS
It's on par with Sonic Unleashed and Sonic Generations I guess. (Sometimes looking worse though)

OVERALL
Again, this game isn't particularly too bad, but it isn't great either. If you're wanting to pick this up wait for at least a 50% off sale or an overall price drop, and then you too can experience perhaps one of the most average entries in the Sonic series. It's honestly kind of a shame it isn't a trainwreck though, cause then I could have probably gotten some enjoyment out of it's terribleness like I do with the majority of the Adventure era titles.

EPISODE SHADOW
I feel like I should mention, that if anyone gets this game Episode Shadow (hopefully it remains free) is while super short at least has some more enjoyable parts than the main game I feel (even if they are retooled levels from the main game :X), and the remixes from Sonic Adventure 2 and Shadow the Hedgehog used here are probably better than most of the games soundtrack. So if you do happen to pick this game I definitely recommend playing through Episode Shadow.

This game is really best going in blind. So if you stumble upon this review and didn't happen to get spoiled by memes and what not, and are curious about it... it's free and fairly short so it won't take up too much of your time, but just keep in mind the content warning is there for a reason~

(Note: I played through this offline so the time is definitely off~)

Riff Racer is probably going to be as addictive as Audiosurf for me if not more, I highly recommend it. It's an arcade racer where the tracks are your music it really can't get any damn better. Now excuse me while I play The Protomen's cover of Danger Zone about a bijillion more times.

I bought this game on sale for a dollar, and it's pretty great. I've arrested a woman for being fat and she got charged with public obstruction, I have also arrested a guy for looking at me the wrong way and another guy for not looking at me the wrong way.
