I'm only four hours into PictoQuest and to be honest, I only started playing it since I had time to kill on a long car journey and it was steamdeck verified. Out of all things I expected out of this, it delivering on being a genuinely good game wasn't one. I was expecting to just play some pictogram levels, but the game has actual heart and passion put into it. The dialogue is well written, with some funny jokes. The music is good, I particularly like the boss theme. The pictograms are difficult at times but not complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, the "sidequest" missions are enjoyable as a slight spin, and I'm a big fan of the monster designs. Don't get me wrong, it's a simple game, but it truly went well above what I was expecting in terms of quality and even now I'm sat here playing it to finish it well after the car journey is over. For the price, this is a bargain!

Finally checked this one off my list, now me from 13 years ago can rest easy. There's something funny about watching NPC cars fly off of a cliff at 200mph in the bust cutscene as they spiral through the air.

A great game, solid recommendation for anyone that likes long haul story games. Coming at this from the angle of someone that likes to collect all achievements, nothing was particularly egregious (except Niflheim whoever decided that was a fun realm gets one million years dungeon) and it was rewarding to play. Fingers crossed to see Ragnarok on steam one of these days.

I guess I can tick "go on an acid trip" off of my bucket list, this ♥♥♥♥ was about as close as I'd need to get. I loved it. Super unique, the idea behind the game resulted in the game looking beautiful at points (and I can see why they had an "architecture consultant" in the credits. Music fit perfectly, worth it definitely, even though it only took me four hours to beat.
