With everything happening in the world, I think it's important that we don't forget those heroes who are persecuted by the ruling classes and the powerful people of this planet. I made a text with reliable sources in the hope that more and more people will remember Julian Assange. The British government allowed his extradition to the US. This is a real danger to our freedom of the press.

Julian Assange is a 50-year-old journalist from Australia, activist, and founder of WikiLeaks. He helped Chelsea Manning, in 2010 to gain access to numerous passwords of top-secret classified documents of the US Military and disclosure of information about the war crimes that occurred back on July 12, 2007, involving US soldiers shooting more than 18 civilians (whom six of them had AK-47 and one RPG-7), including 2 innocents children in a van and two unarmed Iraqis journalist working for Reuters news agency during the aerial raid of Bagdad in Iraq.

The video in the link down below (1-2) shows an Apache helicopter camera with 30MM canons opening fire on them. Chelsea Manning is a former US Military Analyst who's been sentenced to 35 years of jail for spying and for leaking more than 740,800 documents classified as top secret. On January 17, 2017, President Obama reduced her sentence of 35 years to 7 years, three days before he resigns as President of the United States of America. (3-4)

As of May 26, 2022, Julian Assange is still incarcerated in the maximum-security prison of Belmarsh. The British Government allowed his extradition to the US on April 20, 2022. (9-10) Let's just hope political pressure will be enough to safeguard our freedom of the press... Knowing the fact that Mike Pompeo, former CIA director plotted to assassinate him, I fear for his life. (11) He got indicted on 17 counts of violating the espionage act of 1917. (12)

As of March 8, 2019, the former US Army Intelligence Analyst Chelsea Manning has been jailed for refusing to testify to a grand jury investigating WikiLeaks. (8)

As of April 13, 2019, Julian Assange is incarcerated in a London prison since April 11, 2019. He’s subjected to an arrest warrant because of broken conditions and can face up to 12 months in UK Prison for that. He’s also pending possible extradition to the United States, with a ground of arrest: Computer hacking (punishable by five years of imprisonment). He is not accused of espionage at the moment, but if he incurs a sanction of espionage, he can face the death penalty, Guantanamo Bay, or 175 years in jail.

In 2012, he was charged with an alleged rape case back in 2010 in Sweden. The law states that after 10 years, the proceedings fall into the water, but those charges were dropped in May 2017 because he wasn’t in the possibility to move to Sweden. (6–7)

According to leaked files of Edward Snowden, a former analyst at the CIA and ex-contractor at the NSA, Julian Assange was already on an NSA manhunting target list back in 2010, together with suspected members of Al-Qaeda.
Another leaked document shows that the NSA wanted to designate WikiLeaks as a “malicious foreign actor” (1–2) in order to expand the NSA’s ability to target WikiLeaks staff, associates, and supporters.
As of April 13, 2019, the Sweden government wishes to consider reviving a rape inquiry on a young woman, made in 2010 (5).

As of April 14, 2019, Assange’s lawyer Jennifer Robinson claimed that Julian Assange was ready to face the Swedish rape charge only if they do not extradite him to the United States.
As of April 14, 2019, The Ecuadorian president told The Guardian that he had “written guarantees” from London that Julian Assange would not be extradited to a country where he could be subjected to torture, ill-treatment, or death. However, Sweden still has the capacity to extradite Julian to the United States.

As of May 1, 2019, Julian Assange is jailed for 50 weeks for violating his UK bail conditions in 2012 at a sentencing hearing at Southwark Crown Court.
On May 2, 2019, he was supposed to be prosecuted under the US Espionage Act of 1917. The date has changed to May 30, 2019.

The US National Security Agency (NSA) has been making political pressure on its allies. As a result, the Equatorial Embassy in the United Kingdom has violated his basic human rights for more than seven years by keeping him in arbitrary detention. He didn’t have the right to go outside his 30 square meters room for more than 2555 days. The British police were able to arrest him on Thursday, April 11, 2019, after the new president of the equator, Lenín Moreno, accused Julian Assange of spying in the embassy located in the UK.
In view of the extent of his situation, the UN claims that he must be compensated and that he receives the political asylum he asked France, which we must not forget, denied him access to their territories in 2015.

Documents obtained by former NSA contractor Edward Snowden and published in The Intercept show that NSA analysts monitored content on The Pirate Bay and used the agency’s surveillance systems to track where it came from. The documents also show that the NSA’s British partners at the GCHQ used XKeyscore data as part of a surveillance program on sites that included WikiLeaks. That was part of broader psychological profiling and targeting program to collect intelligence, influence individuals online, and disrupt groups like Anonymous that were considered threats.
Contrary to popular belief, Assange is not prosecuted in the United States for publishing secret information. This right is protected by the American Constitution. Assange is being prosecuted for plotting to obtain secret information by hacking the US Army Databases with a Linux distribution, which is forbidden.
