It's kinda hard to get me to really pay attention to MMOs. I tried with WoW and ESO off and on and they never stuck. Now I'm completely addicted lol.

I actually love the culture / language system. It's incredibly dynamic and I honestly would have paid 15 for just that feature on its own, and it's not even the centrepiece of the expac but that's just me. It solves so much of the unrealistic weirdness when I grant a title of a foreign culture to one of my vassals, only to have them almost immediately convert to the foreign culture. Playing as large, multicultural empire is much more interesting and realistic this way. You have other options than just converting every county. It's hitting a level of realism and flexibility that CK2 never hit, and I hope this is the direction expacs take in the future.

Early Access Review
"Early access survival crafting" could easily be repetitive and played out at this point, but this is a hella addictive experience (especially multiplayer) with gorgeous world-building. It's updated regularly and it's great seeing the game glow up. The best game of its genre to come out in years, and I'm glad it's kicking some energy into what was feeling like a stagnant genre.

Paradox made smart choices in choosing aspects added to CK2 over time through DLC to add to the CK3 base game without the game feeling bloated or confusing. New systems are added (like stress and skill trees) that manage to make the game more streamlined and accessible to new players to the franchise. The 3D portraits are brilliant, and animated in a way that adds so much expression to the game.

All I am left wanting is more full conversion mods to come out, but I'll be patient.

I have over 2k hours in Crusader Kings 2 and now I'm completely hooked on CK3. It's like a love letter to the older game, enjoyable to old players like me, while being something I can actually introduce friends to.

Got this as a gift.

Writing is great, love the idea of exploring a world through the perspectives of bar patrons. Mildly unreliable narrators, haha.

Some stuff about the drink mixing wasn't immediately obvious based on the tutorial, but I was able to google it quickly.

You can't save whenever you want though, only when you're able to access your phone during breaks or at home. This means that you may be half way through a long stretch of story when you'd like to quit, but have to either make it through to a save point, or go over a lengthy chunk of dialogue over again. More frequent chances to save would be great.

Really mild inconveniences aside, this game is great.

I've been following this loyally for a long time now, doing the trade run minigame daily to get the card packs and everything. I'm done checking. The devblog hasn't had an update for ages, and the last one was some flavour text of a creepily confederate sounding surrender speech from the independents. I get that's what the show draws inspiration from, cowboy movies and such often being set post civil war, but that's pushing it a little too much for me. A bit too literal. Not to mention that last update really had no point or useful information. This app is pretty dead. I'll still hold out hope for the actual game, because I'm a sucker like that and I really want to see it made, but there's really no point in the minigames anymore.

I'm Iroquois (specifically Mohawk) and the voice acting for Hiawatha. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥'s neat that games are putting effort into consulting and working with Natives to get things right. Unlike some other particular historical strategy games which essentially treat NDNs like passive resources or barbarians. It might not be an issue for other people, but the effort put into details like that is what got me hooked on CiV, and really introduced me to turn-based strategy. Honestly, a lot of games treat Natives in such a way that it can actually be a pretty big turn-off and distract from the rest of the gameplay. Representation matters to a lot of people. CiV handles it in a refreshing way.
