This is my current comfort game. I feel like it has just enough micro and macro managing and the RNG elements keep every run fresh as you have to adapt to environments, modifiers and the limited choices made available to you.

I was pretty skeptical. From the art style to the game play, it just didn't seem to be my thing. Three rounds in and I knew I was going to play until I got every achievement. I then went on to buy two more Vampire Survivor like games so I can smoke more crack

Some of the puzzles were a little obtuse and left me confused and feeling a little stupid but the built in hints got me through most of it.

That said it was still a lot of fun, really interesting aesthetic and vibe.

Despite the ending feeling rushed, I'd recommend it to anyone who likes a little intrigue, mystery and story.

It’s hard not to compare this game to Hidden Folk, a game I consider to be much better.

Hidden Through Time lacks interactability in it’s maps. They’re all very static. The game lacks a dimension of character that Hidden Folk provides with its countless sound effects for every object and person.

What Hidden Through Time does provide however, is a ton of content. Beyond all the DLCs, there are also user created maps. As you’d expect the quality of these vary but regardless the feature is appreciated.

Spent four days carefully modding purely the gameplay, cleaning the mods and DLC, applying bash patches and then transferring all the necessary files to my steam deck. For the first time in a long time, I modded a Bethesda game and actually went on to play it.

Skyrim’s strength is in the side quests. They can be humorous, if dark. They can hit you with some unexpected twists and turns. All the daedra quests are excellent. Some of the guild quests are fun, I particularly enjoy the thieves guild and find it very rewarding as you progress through the ranks.

The combat is a little outdated. There is no dodging, The AI isn’t anything to write home about. Some find humour in this but in the case of combat, I think of it as a net negative. That said, a handful of mods can transform skyrim in a challenging experience tuned to your liking with excellent build diversity.

The main quest line is the game’s weakest link. It’s short and a little anti climactic in my opinion.

If you’re confident you can add at least a handful of mods to spice up your experience, this is absolutely a recommendation to literally anybody remotely interested in playing
