When I review video games, I review them not as products, or services, or experiences. I review them as video games, because that's what they are - they're meant to be played, explored, mastered, taken from. I don't consider what the developer's done in the past, either - unless it's clear that the developer's evil intentions and motives seep into the game itself, I don't judge a developer based on what else they've done. Separate art from artist is my motto.

With that said, this game just sucks hot ass.

Unapologetically mediocre. Nightmare Kart's only things that it's got going for it is that it was made by the PSX goth transbian furry yeag girl, and that it's Bloodborne on Steam before Bloodborne on Steam. But that's... That's genuinely it.

  • The visuals feel gaudy in a sense that it's either too classic or too modern with no inbetween. The default settings for the game give you a PS1-inspired look and feel, but I turned it off immediately because it just felt... wrong.
  • The controls are clunky, making fights feel way worse than they should be. The Father Gregory fight in particular is something I'm just not fond about. The AI can range from "annoyingly hard" to "child's play" with seemingly no inbetween.
  • The menus and settings menus are barebones. This is a nitpicky thing, but control rebinding should have been standardized - nay, mandatory - once the PS2 era hit. It just makes personalizing your experience so much worse.

I don't actually care about Bunlith or Ms. Walker or whoever being trans. But I'm just disappointed that she could have done better, that she could have given 4chan a reason to not be extremist all the time.

2/5. I'm sorry, but this has untapped potential. :(

This game would be way more fun if you were a Halo spartan and you shot enemies down with your auto rifle and sniped enemies from mere meters away but it's pretty fun either way

Arena shooters need good first impressions. I didn't like this first impression.

Pros:
* It's free to play and was created using the Unreal Engine, allowing for more players to marvel at its graphics.
* The weapon selection is a bit unique, but nothing special.
* Movement is unique as well, but it's not what I'm looking for.

Cons:
* I don't like how the movement works. It's not very arena-like.
* You'll need a mid-range PC to run this game, which is unfortunate.
* There's no easy way to set up offline matches, a staple for longevity.

Because of this, I don't really like it. But if you'd like a movement shooter that emphasizes arena play just as much as run-and-gun, then you might like it.

I actually like Overwatch 2, I'm just giving a negative review just so Blizzard can learn their lesson.

Also, didn't Valve keep up Team Fortress Classic on Steam after TF2 was released?

I am utterly terrified of jumpscares. I cannot handle them without some kind of filter or emotional barrier (i.e. sentimental value, a let's player, etc.) standing in the way of a horror game. I've had this irrational fear ever since I was 7 years old and was exposed to my first ever real, honest-to-god Jumpscare by a past friend of mine, and I don't see my fear slowing down any time soon.

But what Lethal Company does is insane - its humor is ridiculously ingrained into its gameplay, not forcing or shoving its way through, but through context and player interaction. Every terrifying moment that you come across, each sudden jolt of horror and spine-tingling moment of unease, is almost always broken by a friend(s) cackling by your side as the two (or more) of you make a break for it out of a spider's den, or a coilhead's domain, or even something as simple as a beehive after trying to yoink one for some dosh.

Legitimately, I have never felt a sense of relief in any other horror game before Lethal Company, and the fact that I can play it without succumbing to my fear of fear itself is immaculate, even divine if you will.

10/10. Please, for the love of god, play this game with a friend or two if you think horror games are scary. You'll bust your ass laughing until you're blue in the face. Please.

stupid ass name, but the concept is really interesting. It's like Garry's Mod for tactical shooters.
